“A nice place to visit”
Reviewed October 3, 2013

The town of Manitou Springs, Colorado is a great place for some eclectic shopping and foods. It's like a Hippie version of Gatlinburg in the 70's. The shops are fun and kind of weird. The food is unique and varied and the little town center makes for a nice walk.
It's close by many touristy places like the Pike's Peak Cog and Garden of the Gods. Stop by for an hour or so; or spend the whole afternoon here - There's plenty to do!
Your first stop coming into town needs to be the tourist info place. The lady working the day we visited was super! She was friendly and very informative. There are walking maps, menus from the restaurants and lists of all of the mineral springs you can try (all for free!). If you're not familiar with there parking system, they are very helpful in explaining how it works (it's easy, just a little different than some places).
Stop by and enjoy the day!

“Quaint Downtown area”
Reviewed September 24, 2013

We saw this area as we left the Cog railroad and decided to stop and browse. Very quaint with many electic shops and eateries. We enjoyed browsing around but had to go eat somewhere else. Unfortunately, they city had experienced a water main break and the eateries were forced to closed. Will return in the future.

“A charming little gem near Pike's Peak”
Reviewed September 23, 2013

We stumbled upon Manitou Springs while visiting Colorado Springs and Garden of the Gods. The downtown shopping area was too good to pass up, with cute, artsy storefronts and tons of shops. The downside is finding a place to park! We had to make several passes through the area before we finally spotted a vacant spot. But the shopping area is compact enough to comfortably walk, checking out one shop after another, which carry everything from touristy souvenirs to handmade jewelry. There are several places to sit and enjoy the surroundings and you can find fountains that tap the natural springs that give the town its name. There are also numerous restaurants and we chose to try out Marilyn's Pizza, which is named in honor of Marilyn Monroe and decorated with 50's stuff. The custom made pizza was wonderful and we finished the entire thing! I understand that the downtown shopping area suffered some damage in the recent heavy flooding in Colorado, but hopefully everything will be back up and running quickly. We've put Manitou Springs on our Gotta Stop list whenever we're in that part of Colorado.

“Taste the spring water in Manitou Springs”
Reviewed September 4, 2013

If you stop by the Tourist Information on your way into Manitou Springs, pick up a map and information regarding the springs dotted around downtown - they also give you free tasting cups. Its interesting to read about the springs mineral content, each fountain is individual in looks and taste, and its a great way to find your way around the town. Recommend walking up the hill to Twin Springs ... very tasty!

Reviewed August 30, 2013

I went to downtown Manitou springs I thought it would be good. Well there are few nice business there but they all get bad rap because the pale is a dump and a front hippies and pot heads. many shops there for this and people doing it on the street. You can smell it everywhere. What a bad rap for this touwn and the state. Stay away unless you want a joint. Not good place to bring your kids.
