“Tourist trap!”
Reviewed August 5, 2013

Looked through the entire store for gifts for the kids FROM COLORADO!!! If I wanted trinkets from china, I would have stayed home and shopped on line. Finally found some Colorado wild flower seeds... Although they were still packaged and distributed out of state. Recommend you skip this shop and just enjoy the natural beauty of the park.

Bummer you feel that way Pat. We specialize in all things Colorado, but yes, sometimes the item is made in China. Being the larges gift store in Colorado sometimes means that. However, we have a tremendous amount of locally produced good and especially art! Our gallery is full of local artisans and some really great pieces.

We hope you'll come back and look at some really great Colorado items!

“One of the best free attractions you'll ever see.”
Reviewed August 1, 2013

This is a superior place. You can visit two three times and see something different. The various colors and contrast are marvelous. The shop is great find the ocular viewer if it is still there. Have not been there in several years. This is a drive through with plenty of parking and areas to explore on foot. This is really in Manitou Springs near Pikes Peak so be sure to add it to your travel stops. Places where kids can climb are abundant and they will love it.

“Trading post is welcome respite during your visit”
Reviewed July 25, 2013

Free state park, there are many hikers, bikers, and other vehicles on the few park roads, and many pull-offs. Views from the pull-offs are usually of one or more rock formations in the brocure you can get from the trading post, the visitors' center, or most any other place in Manitou Springs. We got ours at Miramont Castle, but some were at the cog railway depot, too.
