Description: A new wine bar and gallery on the main street in Mancos. Delicious home made pizzas and other small dishes prepared to order. Great wine list and gallery show change often.

The innkeeper that we stayed with recommended this restaurant with the caveat, "This place isn't good. IT IS GREAT!" He was not kidding. The food coming out of Jason Blankenship's kitchen is nothing short of amazing. The chef changes his menu every two weeks so the items that I mention might not be available when you dine there. The prices for the quality of food will make your wallet happy too. If this little place was in a city like LA the newspaper would write a review and it would be booked out for weeks. We were glad we had reservations (it is a small place). The chef sources local ingredients and will even deliver to the table if server is busy and the plate is ready. He has a short but adequate wine list and we were happy with the one he helped us choose.
I cannot begin to describe and do justice to the food coming to the table. Our table talked about every dish that came out of the kitchen, both appearance and taste. The watermelon pudding that ended our first meal at Olio was so pretty and intriguing that we put spoons in before we took a picture. The nut pie was like no pecan pie that your Nona has ever made. I am talking about dessert before I even mention the Fresh Trout, the Stuffed Chicken, the Radish Salad or the many other dishes that we tried on the two nights we dined there.
We will be returning to CO likely next spring and we would not be surprised to see Jason with line cooks and a bigger space. The food is very good.

Olio was an amazing surprise. A culinary oasis! Not to be missed if you're in this area. It's not like you have much choice in Mancos. Superb selection of French and Italian wines reasonably priced. And an amazing cheese selection - boucheron, pont l'eveque, manchego - served with roasted nuts and fig. All very reasonably priced - too generous really. The only restaurant in SW Colorado where we could get actual FRESH local trout.
Excellent jazz playlist was a welcome bonus. The chef Jason Blankenship is serious about what he's doing here and deserves every accolade.

Restaurant apparently is now called Olio. What a surprise in such a tiny town. We had lunch on the last Saturday in September. Both of us had different lamb dishes which were excellently prepared and presented. Nice choices of wines by the glass. Lovely interior, changing art exhibits and impeccable service made for a wonderful meal experience.

As good as food gets! I would give it 6 stars if possible. I started with a bowl of shrimp and squash chowder that was as good a bowl of soup as I have ever had. The Bavette of Beef with mustard sauce was tender, flavorful and excellently seasoned. The side of potatoes were the most amazing potatoes I've had in memory. The banana, macadamia nut and coconut Empanadas for desert were unreal. I've eaten at 5 star restaurants around the world and never had a better meal. I only wish it was closer to home. You would have to be insane to eat anywhere else.

This restaurant is now called Olio. It is chef owned and is the best restaurant in Mancos or Cortez. The food was absolutely amazing - wonderfully balanced flavors. We visit Mancos about once a year (great get-away from Denver) and can't wait to go back and eat here again. This chef could easily complete with the best restaurants in Denver. Food seems to be locally sourced when possible and tastes fresh and delicious. The by the glass wine list was also quite good. If you're anywhere in the 4 corners area this place is worth the drive.
