Flagstone Meadows Ranch Bed and Breakfast
Ranked #2 of 5 Mancos B&B and Inns

Flagstone Meadows is in a lovely spot. It is a beautiful home. Food was wonderful. The two issues that were difficult was one, the rooms were in the basement. Secondly, there was no heat in the AM and the temperature was 30 degrees. no reason given.

We stayed two nights at Harris' Flagstone Meadows Ranch Bed and Breadfast last week and had a wonderful stay! The rooms were gorgeous- large king beds, views of the mountains (and turkeys in the morning), and beautiful decorations. We were treated to ice cream in the evening and delicious homemade breakfasts. We loved the place and hope to go back!

Harris, the host at Flagstone Meadows B&B, is a wonderful soul. He is very attentive to the needs of his guests, fully present in the conversations and meal times and snack times, though he must hear the same questions and comments every day! We loved the flock of wild turkeys strutting every morning in front of our room window and congregating in front of the dining room as well!
As we left on our adventures each morning, Harris would make sure to remind us to "save room" for the dessert he would serve each evening in the "great room" in front of the fireplace! We had homemade cheesecake one evening and brownies and ice cream the next! The morning and evening conversation exchanges at the breakfast table and then around the fire were always enlightening and sometimes quite profound. We loved the fact that people come to this B&B from all around the world and from all walks of life. Harris taught us that the Navajo tradition was to accept anyone, regardless of race or creed, as long as they could hold up their hand and show that they had 5 fingers. Being a "mixed race" family and never seeing a need to "categorize" people into groups ourselves, we loved this image!
Visiting Flagstone Meadows is much more than a Bed and a Breakfast. It is entering into community and learning about what it means to be a human being living on a planet where we must share our common resources and learn to get along. Thank you Harris, for showing us the true meaning of hospitality.
On a practical note, ladies who use hairdryers, don't foget to bring one! Harris does all the care taking and cooking himself and he is very organized. We should all take lessons from him!

Room Tip: If you are traveling as a family, there are 2 suites with an extra bed. Though they are on the bott...

It was great to get to know Harris. He was very kind to guide us to the B&B from the US-160 as it was already dark when we came from Arizona - Utah (Grand Canyon and Monument Valley in one day!).
It was Dec 7, 2010 when we visited for two nights, because we wanted to see Mesa Verde.

We stayed at Flagstone for two nights at the end of September. The house was airy and very spacious and our room was very light and comfortable with a balcony overlooking the Mesa Verde . The house is in a great location, a bit off the beaten track but very peaceful and quiet with nice views and a fantastic night sky. The house is near to the Mesa Verde National Park but you could easily enjoy staying at the house without venturing too far if you just want to relax.

Harris was very hospitable and knowledgeable and we had a few laughs when comparing the meaning of English and US words! We were so pleased we decided to stay here rather than Cortez. We will definately return if we are lucky enough to travel to this area again.

We have stayed in many B & Bs across the country, and Flagstone Meadows is in the top 3 ever. The location is fabulous - private, quiet, and more stars in the Colorado sky than we thought possible. The house is gorgeous - it's a spacious home, and each room offers an amazing sense of privacy and comfort. There are thoughtful touches everywhere! Harris Court, the owner, is probably one of the most interesting and adept hosts ever. His knowledge of the area with its history and culture is fascinating and made our day in Mesa Verde so much more than it otherwise would have been. And the breakfasts were outstanding. There just aren't enough superlatives to describe our two nights there. We would plan a return to the area just to be able to stay there!

Stayed here a 2 nights in October 2011. Very comfortable room, friendly people. Harris was very informative about the local sights (we did Mesa Verde) and the breakfast was great. Beautiful home in rustic setting (get there in daylight it'd be tough to find in the dark), nice walking trail from the backporch into the woods, loved seeing the magpies fly in and munch of the leftover breakfast. I can think of nothing negative, our experience was very positive.
