We decided to try the 4th Street Chop House for my birthday dinner. For starters, as soon as the server noticed the birthday card on our table, she brought a card from the restaurant, signed by all the employees. Obviously, this is something they have prepared in advance for just such an occasion, and it's a very nice touch.

The fried onion rings appetizer (served with two different dipping sauces) were so yummy we had to get two orders to take home. The rib-eye steak was melt-in-your-mouth tender and delicious. Unfortunately, I ordered it medium-rare and it arrived medium-well. The kitchen made another one, and the manager came to the table with many apologies and offered us a free dessert--anything on the menu.

The servers and the manager were probably the nicest, friendliest people I've experienced in a restaurant. It's never pleasant to have to send food back, but all is forgiven when they are so-o-o incredibly nice about it.

The 7-layer chocolate slab cake dessert was enough for at least three people. We were happy to take it home:)

I *do* think the prices are on the high side, but considering the quality of the food and the excellent service, this is a great place for a special occasion. They also have early-bird and Sunday specials--check them out.

The pub ambiance with wooden booths fits perfectly with the food.

Our food was excellent, and our server (Lisa) was not only professional but treated us like family. The restaurant is decorated in large photos from the 30s and 40s, so it has a great old-fashioned feel to it. Although the menu is on the high side for price, it is worth the cost. It is our new favorite for whenever we are in Loveland.

The menu is gourmet. Garlic mashed potatoes and lettuce wedges are my favorite sides. Very good bartender too. Truly a special experience.
