Went to Zucca for a business lunch and I have to say, I can't wait to come back for dinner with friends. It is worth the drive (I am south of Denver). The food was great and the ambiance was wonderful.

With went to Zucca for a special wine pairing dinner which was their first. Each wine was explained by the son of the small Italian wine producer. He certainly added to the evening. The service overall was wonderful, efficient and very friendly. The food was quite interesting and well prepared. We plan to go back to try their regular dinner menu but hope they plan more special wine pairing dinners as well.

We visited on Friday evening about 7:30. We were seated immediately with a reservation. The bar area was crowed, there were only 2 tables in the dining room. Service by Janis was excellent. She has a fantastic smile. The calamari was very good with a spicy pepper and oil sauce. I ordered the Linguine al'Pescatore. I asked to change the linguine to capellini with no problem. The entree was great. The sauce was spicy, but not too hot. The serving size was not huge like some restaurants offer and the calamari, shrimp and clams were plentiful. Its nice to be able to finish your entrée. I highly recommend this restaurant. Like other reviews mention, the dining room is noisy. There was a table of 5 men next to us that were loud. Once they left it was much better.

Recently, we made a return visit to Zucca having had a less than pleasant experience the first time. It is about the service as the restaurant itself is very attractive and, while noise is an issue when the place is half full, the bar area (separate from dining) is extremely attractive. The menu has plenty of entrees for Italian diners. However, as many other reviewers state, the service is spotty. We had several issues: (1) The freshly ground cheese was never brought to the table until we nearly finished our food in spite of the fact that our server kept returning to ask us if we liked the food and to tell us the cheese was on its way. (2) They removed our appetizer plate and then brought bread and olive oil but we had to ask twice for a small plate on which to pour the oil. (3) The food was good but not hot and came our very, very slowly. (4) And lastly, the elderly man who might be the owner/manager; he paces. From the time we entered, he paced, back and forth along the bar, out the front door and again back through the bar to the kitchen, seemingly looking for customers. It was annoying. Start with him and work down to re-train the servers and chefs. Stop looking for additional clients and concentrate on the customers seated in your restaurant.Set an example and make yourself useful. Perhaps if you just zeroed in on one thing, bringing water or fresh bread and olive oil to the table and then resume your post at the door, that would be helpful. For all your effort to seek diners, this same man was chatting at the bar with the bartender and a server when we left, and while I made contact with all 3 as I walked past the bar, they were like the 3-blind-mice and made to effort to acknowledge the fact that we had just spent well over $100.00 in their restaurant. Better they return to their waiting tables and give the diners the proper service they deserve. They may be in the company of a group of top restaurants in Boulder County, but trust me, they are on the bottom in service.
