We took the train ride on THE weekend for fall colors. Each bend in the track provided a new scene that seemed more spectacular than the previous one. Nice history and local yore as we traveled. Easy to move around the train. Even took our old dog who snoozed during most of the trip. A great way to see the countryside without hiking.

Go to the Silver Dollar saloon. Very cool. This is where Doc and Wyatt used to hang out. They will tell you some very interesting stories there :)

This little rail trip is around 2 hours. A fun little run through the scenery around Leadville. It roughly follows 91 towards the Climax mine. If you are a train aficionado, this is a must.

We enjoyed a pleasant 2 hours ride into the mountains to enjoy the fall foliage. Nice commentary by the conductor. Reasonable price $37, for a pleasant afternoon!
