Aspen is approx. 1 hour away over Independence Pass in summer months. It's always cool and comfortable year round in this high alpine area. Ask about our Rails & Zip line Combo with lunch. I am by nature am somewhat of an adrenalin junky. On the other hand I am also cautious as I value my safety. To say my wife was initially nervous was an understatement. It was reassuring to see the emphasis on safety with dual lines and dual pulleys that are interconnected. My wife was the first one to jump off the initial platform and her fear quickly turned into smiles. Our guides (Jeff, Heidi and Carlos) were awesome.

There are other zipline firms in the area, but Top of the Mountain Ziplines has several advantages. One is the uniqueness of the terrain of their five (soon to be six) zipline course. It starts with a truck ride up to 11,500 feet on the Continental Divide. You zip over a train track, streams, etc. and experience breathtaking views of the Rockies.

At many other zipline companies I have seen you have to climb many steps up tall towers. At Top of the Rockies Ziplines you begin working your way down the mountain as you zip from one platform to the next. There is a short walk downhill between the platforms with only a few steps up or down each platform. In other words; more time ziplining and less time climbing.

There is no question my wife and I made the right choice with Top of the Rockies Ziplines. They handle a variety of ages. We actually had children, parents and a grandparent on our zipline tour. Everyone was laughing and had a great time.

Thanks to Jeff, Heidi and Carlos. My wife and I are already planning to go back to Top of the Rockies Ziplines in late January for a combination trip they offer of snowmobiling and ziplining.
It doesn’t get much better if you are looking for fun at a reasonable price.

This is a great experience for first timers. With double lines, two family members can go at the same time. The the guides were experienced and safety conscious. There are only five ziplines, with plans for one more in the works. The view was fabulous!

Our family of 4 decided a zipline experience in the Mountains would be fun and we were right! The views while on the mountain were spectacular. We enjoyed the double lines so that two of us could go together. It also helped move along the group, we were with 11 other people, so there was some waiting but you were outside in a beautiful setting on a beautiful day so who's complaining?!
The guides were very friendly and we felt safe at all times. The only complaint I have is that there were only 5 zips and we would have enjoyed another 5! They also had a photographer with the group and he assembled a CD for purchase of each individual group available after the experience and of course we did because he had gotten a couple shots we could not have. We did have cameras with us and were able to get lots of shots of our group while taking off or coming in. There was a water/snack break after the third line but if it is warm, I'd recommend brining your own bottle of water and sunscreen. Another bonus is that you are never climbing up to a platform, they drive you up to the top and you ride a line and then walk a short distance down a path to the next platform, which is nice. And note to self, the bathroom facilities are port-a-potties, which I recommend using before you go up, as there are none on the Mountain.

Our family has ziplined in five different states, including Alaska and Hawaii, and we rank this as the best scenery while ziplining. Absolutely breathtaking! However, there is a room for improvement for this zipline company. There were only five ziplines and one was quite short. They sent us up with a group of 19 people. We did have to wait quite a bit with such a large group. They also did not work to keep our family of 8 together. We had fun with the double lines as two people could zip together and even race each other. However, we were not always with our own family (which should have been easy with an even number in our family). The guides were friendly, hard-working, and safety conscious. It would have been more fun if they were a bit more engaging. Overall, we still had a great time together as a family surrounded by gorgeous views.
