“Wild Ride”
Review of Mosquito Pass

Reviewed November 1, 2012

This is a pass east of Leadville you don't want to miss. Be sure to have four wheel drive and a strong countenance as the ride is absolutely wild. Watch for snow as early as October...

This is not a difficult trail but it is in-fact a trail. Any one that tells you they drive there car over it simply isn't telling the truth. I'd for sure like to see that OR maybe I wouldn't. VERY bumpy and VERY rocky. While it isn't for the faint of heart, it its simply beautiful up there as you can see forever in both directions. 4 wheel drive is for sure needed and I don't recommend it for beginners. Some one with a moderate amount of 4 wheeling however shouldn't have any problems with it as most all high clearance 4x4's are suitable. Again I cant stress the fact that you should have some 4 wheeling experience as you can get in a bit of trouble fast if you do not know what you are doing. Its narrow, very rocky and loose. Just use caution and enjoy!
