Got a "nickel tour" of the place by one of the waitresses. Really fascinating history. Had lunch ,Italian Sausage sub.scale 1 - 5, I'd give it a 7 !! Best ever ! Mrs. Had the Philly Steak sub and rated it probably 3.5.

As others have pointed out the restrooms could be better kept and the men's room was rather a tight space and the lock didn't work. This was an Irish-themed establishment the last time we were there in like 2010(?). The food was so-so (I think we had burgers both times). On this particular visit the French fries were cold and undercooked. At first we thought it was us, but patrons at two other tables didn't eat theirs and made similar comments. When brought to the attention of management we were given fresher, hot fries, but our experience had been soured. The photographs and captions on the walls are probably the most interesting thing about this establishment and supposedly Doc Holiday spent a lot of time in this building. It was interesting to check out for that and made one meal, but it is not high on our list of places to eat in Leadville, sorry to say.

We tried this place for lunch because the building has a charming history. The fish & chips were awful, my kids seemed to like the chicken sandwiches. The placebis really neat with an interesting history. The staff were super friendly....but don't go for the food.

Stopped by here on Tuesday en route from Taos to Vail. We've visited Leadville several times and this place looked cool as a authentic bar from back in the day. It was lunchtime so we popped in. Interior is interesting with loads of cool stuff to check out on the walls and behind the bar. It's quite a large building - bar is quite big and there's a larger dining area at the back.

The first disappointment is that there are no beers on draft - the server seemed surprised that we were surprised by this. My wife had a bottled beer and had a root beer(which came out frozen). We ordered some food and chilled for a bit. I had a bowl of Chili - it looked good but something seemed odd with the flavour. I eventually ate around half of it...something which I regretted later. My wife had a burger - which she said was good. The fries were very odd though - they looked great(golden brown, skins on and with salt and pepper) but tasted as of they'd been half cooked and then finished...except they were still not cooked. So, both stake tasting and hard.

We left fairly rapidly and arrived later at our hotel near Vail. I began feeling unwell and have had a very dodgy digestive system since then, have hardly eaten anything all week. It could've been a stray bug but the Chili just tasted wrong. This place is OK for a drink just be careful what you eat there.

One other thing; there's a cute French Bulldog/Pug who walks around the bar. We saw him walk upto one of the bar stalls and have a pee. We were pretty shocked.

The service was iffy and not very friendly, but the structure itself has a great deal of history which is worth a stop.
