“Awesome food, Atmosphere & View”
Reviewed April 1, 2014

I went to Leadville with a group of people do our first 14er and we randomly stopped at High Mountain Pies on our way into town and it was such a great choice. There are sooooo many pizza choices for every type of food craving. I had the crocodile pizza with shrimp and bbq sauce and all sorts of other goodies. The pizza was delicious and staff were super friendly. The best part was the outdoor seating out back with an amazing view of the mountains. There was also a slack line out back and picnic tables for eating. All the guests just intermingled and sat together which was a lot of fun. I'm definitely going to go back.

“Great food”
Reviewed March 24, 2014

I'm writing this review very belatedly. This past summer we stopped here on our way to Aspen to have lunch. We enjoyed it so much we made sure to stop here again on our trip back from Aspen. Everyone in our family of 5 enjoyed lunch, a rarity in our family. The pizza, calzones, sandwiches and salads were all good.

“Eat this!”
Reviewed March 18, 2014

While staying in Leadville for a skiing vacation we clearly needed to eat. Where else to turn but Tripadvisor? High Mountain Pies was rated number one and after eating there not once but twice it wasn't a mistake. Maybe don't plan on dining in as they do not have much in the way of seating. Even then, if your party is small it will work. They had coloring books and a fun pizza toy for the kids. One of the cooks even came out and gave the kids some fresh dough to play with. We had wings, a pizza, and ribs. The ribs in particular stole the show....they were fantastic. Pricing is very nice for the quality and quantity of food. While we were there they were really pushing take out orders out the door. Don't let the outside looks of the place fool you.

“Awesome pizza”
Reviewed March 13, 2014

WOW! Absolutely the best pizza. We've had our longtime favorite pizza place in Idaho Springs for over 25 years. But now, we have a new one, High Mountain Pies. The place is small, believe there were two tables and some seats at the counter. We were doing takeout so no wait involved. Hear the salads are great too.

“Homemade, fresh, and very flavorful”
Reviewed March 12, 2014 via mobile

When we visit Leadville, this is a required stop for us. We love the pizza and all of the choices available. It's so fresh and very flavorful. Unique in every way. The only downside, on a cold day, you may need to take it to go since there's only seating for 10-12 inside. We can usually squeeze in somewhere. Not a seating problem on warmer days since they have an outside patio. Don't miss this unique experience.
