240 Union is consistently our "go-to" spot in Lakewood when we are looking for a delicious meal, have folks in from out of town, or for special celebrations. It's refreshing to have a high end, locally owned, restaurant in the area and if you are in the mood for a good meal, skip all the chains and eat here!!

We've been to 240 Union many times, for a wide variety of occasions. Business lunches are great here as it's bright and welcoming, and the staff gives you the space and time you need to take care of business. Their lunch fair is tasty and reasonably priced. They run daily specials and have a nice variety on their menu. From Pizza's to seafood to steak to pork chops. You can find something for everyone.

Dinners are also great here. Again it's a great atmosphere and the staff never makes you feel rushed. You don't see kids here to often, but we frequently bring our children (ages 5 and 10 now) and they have enjoyed the food. While they don't have a children's menu the staff is very accommodating to adjust an "adult" dish to kid proportions or design something that the kids will like.

They have a full bar and their wine list is outstanding and a great value.

Excellent food - I guess you call it modern American fine dining. I sat at the bar since I was alone but it did not disappoint.

Food was varied and authentic - no fast food here and no French fries! Always a good sign...

Mostly we were happy with the lunch we received at this establishment. There is a good variety on fares on the lunch menu, overall more seafood selections than any other. We were seated promptly and the waiter was mostly attentive. Two of our water glasses had lipstick on them, I'm sure they went through the dishwasher once, but still prefer lipstick on lips, not water glasses. The Grilled Pork Loin was very tender, we also had a Boston Bibb salad, very fresh with lots of toppings. We would try this again for dinner, maybe a higher wow factor on the dinner menu, but still a solid •••• rating for lunch.

We had a gift certificate and were really looking forward to a nice meal. We arrived about 5:30 on a Sunday evening and the dining room was clean and quiet. We started out by sharing the Boston bib salad. The server split it for us (nice) but the salad itself was drowning in the dressing causing the lettuce to be limp and soggy. The avacado was soggy and not freshly cut. For an entree I had the capellini with shrimp in a tomatoe basil cream sauce. The shrimp was tough and overcooked and the pasta and shrimp were drowning in the sauce...way too much of it. My husband had the seafood risotto and while his seafood was cooked ok, the dish was drowned by once again way too much rich sauce which overshadowed the nice veggies and seafood. The busgirl was the only person that asked us how the food was and we told her. She smiled and cleared our plates and no one followed up. Our server brought a dessert menu, but based on what we had seen so far, we declined and left, and will not be back.

We were there with a very large party. Had a wonderful separate area to mingle before dinner. The food was fantastic. I ordered a hanger steak that was cooked to perfection with a terrific sauce over mashed potatoes....delicious. My wife ordered a shrimp and pasta dish that was so large she couldn't even finish it and my son ordered the mahi mahi and said it was great. There is a large menu selection and everyone raved about whatever they ordered. The wine and appetizers were fantastic. Definitely would recommend this place, only wished I lived in the area so we could enjoy it more often.
