“pet friendly, great stay, but loud hallways”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 27, 2008

We got an upgraded room on the 11th floor - at the end corner. we requested to be away from elevators to have a quiet room. They welcomed our 45 lbs black lab with smiles!! very pet friendly place at no charge! Our room was very clean, carpet new - but the door has about a 2 inch gap to the floor in the hallway and the walls are THIN. It sounded like the crazy wedding party arriving to their rooms at 1:00 a.m. were right in our room, and the next morning at 8:00 a.m we could hear our neighbors conversations and their tv at volume 10. our room faced the mountains, and on the 11th floor - you could hear each conversation in the parking lot. Let's just say the acoustics in this hotel are weird, and be sure to request the quietest room possible if you are a light sleeper - the AC system in room was very loud. Had to shut it off. Otherwise, we paid over 100.00 for our room and it was nice and exactly what we requested, but even being on the end...it was still noisy on a saturday night.

  • Liked — value - room was big and updated
  • Disliked — acoustics in hallways and thin walls

Stayed here for one night while attending a seminar at the Denver Federal Center. Overall pretty good experience: friendly desk staff who honored my request for a quiet room on a high floor. Bed was comfy, room was quiet and clean. Best part was a bargain price of $89 per night via the Starwood website. Not bad for a one night's stay. This hotel is a work in renovation progress - it is old and undergoing renovation. My room was 3/4 renovated: all new bed, furniture, granite countertop on sink, new carpeting, etc. Bathroom was clean but clearly right out of the late 1970s, and toilet ran a bit. Older (no flat screen) TV. Did not eat at the restaurant. Parking is free, although garage under hotel is a bit dingy at night. But I would stay here again given the price and convenience to the Federal Center and short drive to the mountains, and nice staff.

  • Liked — Very nice staff
  • Disliked — Bathroom right out ot the 1970s

This hotel is next to the Denver Federal Center and I have stayed there many times. The rooms are nice, the price is fair, and the free breakfasts are excellent! Excellent place to stay if you are a Federal employee. Also, no sign of bedbugs (and I am an expert at finding them!).

This hotel is also on the western edge of town (really in Lakewood) and it is easy to drive into the mountains from this location.

  • Liked — Nice rooms, free breakfast, fair government rate.
  • Disliked — Did not have hot water one morning at 7:00am... This was fixed by the next day though.

In April of 2007 we booked a weekend trip to Denver and decieded to stay and the Sheraton Denver West. We checked in and the staff was very friendly and the lobby was warm and inviting. The front desk staff asked us if we would like to upgrade to a jacuzzi suite for only
$20 and we gladly accepted. The suite was on the top floor and the elevator required the key to access the floor, we felt special. Our floor included complimentiary cocktails and appetizers and a conciere to boot. Our room was clean and very nice with a mountain view (the boothills). We were very close to Red Rocks Ampitheather and the Coors
Brewery, but it was about a 45 minute drive from the airport(DEN). It should also be noted that to get to the mountains it is going to be at
least a good hour drive from the airport anyway. The conciere Ruby on our floor was very friendly and told us places to sitesee while we were in town(and I might add Rocky Mountain National Park is beautiful). The pool is indoor and was clean and warm. OVERALL: Great hotel, very clean, modern and a great staff(and great views). We will definately stay here again! It should also be noted that there are resturants in the hotel and nearby.

  • Liked — The view and pool were great but close proximity to the mountains.
  • Disliked — The parking was kind of short due to a wedding on site.

This is a great location on the west side of Denver, but the property is a little tired (old furniture and pealing wallpaper.. They do have the awesome sleeper beds but the room I stayed in smelled like smoke. Ironically there was a note on the desk saying that they will charge $150 if the room smells like smoke.

Front desk staff was great and helpful. I will look elsewhere to stay in the area next time.

We chose this hotel based on it's proximity to Red Rocks (20 min. away) and were very happy with it. The room was an "updated" king and had a nice view to the mountains. We stayed on the 11th floor. The place was clean, had a comfortable bed and a nice bathroom. Breakfast the first morning was ordered off the menu and took quite some time to arrive but was good. The next morning we did the buffet and that was NOT very good- hard waffles, tough eggs, so so pastries and all for $28 for 2 of us with coffee, tip, etc. That said, the hotel itself was just fine and we were pleased with the place and would stay there again if in the area.

Our room on the 3rd floor was spacious & had a great view of the city. It seemed to be clean, but it was hard to tell because the lighting was so dim we thought we were going blind. It was impossible to read in bed & my husband had trouble shaving because the lighting in the bathroom was equally poor. The beds were VERY comfortable and the staff was helpful & friendly without being intrusive. If they'd only replace those 20-watt light bulbs!!!

  • Liked — Trade show we were attending was there
  • Disliked — Terrible lighting
