“Delightful haven at the base of the Rockies”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 26, 2012

The Inn is a little off the beaten path, west of Walsenburg, Colorado. The hospitality, accommodations, and views are worth the trip. Tracy and Bill provide excellent hospitality. The house is almost two decades old but looks new outside and inside. The communal rooms are full of comforts. La Veta is small and welcoming to visitors. The location at the base of the Rockies is beautiful. The inn provides an excellent base for exploring the Highway of Legends.

Room Tip: Some of the room lack television. Television is available in the library.

This is a lovely place. Bill and Tracy have really made every effort to make the rooms as comfortable as possible. They were so helpful and friendly, bending over backwards to make their guests feel at home. The breakfast was delicious! Highly recommended.

We spent 2 wonderful nights at the inn. Tracy and Bill were the most wonderful host. They were very knowledgable about the area. They recommended Alys Resaurant and took the time to make reservations for us. Breakfast was incredible every morning. We had a great time visiting with the other guests. The room was very clean and comfortable. If you go to levita they are a must stay

Inn of the Spanish Peaks is actually in La Veta, CO. La Veta is a small, artsy, location. Bill and Tracy, owners of the Inn, are wonderful hosts and serve up an delilcious breakfast. The Inn is within walking distance of La Veta Main St. The Spanish Peaks are always in your view wherever you go in La Veta. Clean, nice deck with views of the local mule deer. We will go back !

Room Tip: Any room in the Inn will be good.

Spent President's Day Weekend with friends in La Veta and at The Inn at the Spanish Peaks.
Wow!!! It is all that you can ask for in a B&B. Absolutely wonderful host and hostess, fantastic breakfasts, great views of the Spanish Peaks, quaint small town (but with cute wine bar), and unspoiled countryside in all directions. The night skies and stars were unbelievable.
The three of us had been in the Spanish Peaks area years earlier, but this was the first winter trip. The mountainous terrain surrounding La Veta, lent itself to wonderful snowshoeing and x-country skiing. Blue skies and crisp, clean mountain air were are companions throughout the stay.
The Inn itself, is a (3) suite adobe style, large home with an expansive entryway, large open
common room, lovely library with see- through fireplace, and many large windows to view the superb scenery. All of the grounds and interior are extremely well kept and very contemporary in style. Consistent with its location. Our "suite" was the COLORADO SUITE. It is lovely. clean, modern in its decor (but true to its Colorado roots), with ample room for three adults and their assorted baggage. The bathroom is quite large and met our needs.
There is one queen bed and one single day bed in the sitting area separated by wooden French Doors. The beds were quite comfortable and a good nites sleep was the norm. Due to the winter season, we did not use the balcony but upon inspection it appeared to have great potential for warm weather socializing.
Check in time was 4PM, but we showed up several hours early and were shown up to our suite without even a hint that it wasn't agreed upon.
During our stay, we shared the Inn with another couple and enjoyed wonderful conversations at breakfast not to mention the gooey cinnamon rolls!!!
Bill and Tracy know the area well and are more than willing to help with suggestions for local activities... if desired. The wine bar was Tracy's suggestion and it was exactly what we were looking for after a day of snowshoeing.
THE INN AT THE SPANISH PEAKS is highly recommended, we are already plotting a return visit.....

What a truly wonderful hidden gem! We went for a wonderful train & concert, & found a true Colorado Gem at the Inn at the Spanish Peaks!! Arriving late, we were still met with warmth of old friends, into a lovely home. Our rooms were "suites", with our own balconies, or patios to sit out on. Which we did, to watch all the deer roaming around the town! It was like staying with a favorite Aunt & Uncle, well fed, and taken care of! we will go back!
