Keystone Lodge and Spa was nice, but a little worn - lobby needs a face lift - new furniture/paint.

Most restaurants around Keystone, Colorado were over-priced for what was served.

Not all restaurants in the area were air-conditioned - which made for unpleasant dining on hot summer evenings.

Stayed in the Lakeshore building in a one bedroom condo which was very nicely appointed and had a stunning view of the lake and the mountains. However, many things were broken and the lodge did not fix them: the tap water was tepid at best, toilet flush - had to fix it myself. The hari dryer was broken.........
lodge food and at other Keystone attractions was awful and decidedly not a place for vegetarians.
However, the view and comfort of the condo made up for much of the hassle.

I read some of the other Trip Advisor reviews of this lodge and was admitedly nervous about my reservation with the Keystone Lodge and Spa. Thank goodness all of the negative publicity was untrue, for at least my stay. Yes, the hotel is a little dated, but that just adds to its charm. The staff was very friendly, and I found that there was much attention paid to detail. There were free Nature Valley bars at the front desk, cookies or spa treatments on your pillow after turn-down service, and even free valet parking during the summer. The heated outdoor pool and hot tub area was wonderful. They could be enjoyed even with 40 degree temperatures at night or in the early morning. I spent some time at the spa as well. The relaxation room is a nice touch before and after your spa, where you can have hot tea, cucumber and lemon-infused water, and grapes while laying down with a hot towel behind your neck. I also found the resort to be laid-back and peaceful (although I'm sure it is a lot different during ski season). You are located right where you need to be - near other ski resorts, great mountains and rivers, with easy access to the highway. I highly recommend AVA rafting if you are looking for a great trip down the Arkansas River. All in all I was very pleased with the Keystone Lodge and Spa.

tip - pick up a copy of the Summit Daily News for 2 for 1 dinner specials. you can save quite a bit!

Attending a family wedding, this aging property has passable public areas, but rooms that have seen better days. They are small, low ceilings, tiny bathrooms, but most of all, have poor ventilation on warm summer days. Even with temps falling to the forties overnight, the small windows provide little air and there is no Air Conditioning. Ask for a room with a balcony so you can open the doors, avoid a room with a loft due to narrow spriral staircase. Or stay in one of the nearby condos for slightly more money and better accommodations.

My first time to Keystone and this place was great. We had a one-bedroom condo overlooking the lake. The place was clean and well maintained, and very spacious. Plenty to do if you like the outdoors. The Spa and Fitness Center were outstanding. I highly recommend Keystone and the Lodge for vacationing no matter the season. My only complaint is that some of the better restaurants are only open during the ski season.

It's a beautiful area with local towns just as beautiful and things to see and do. I went early June which was too early as it was still cold and snowing. Seems activities don't pick up for summer until mid-late June so plan accordingly unless you want quiet time. I stayed at the Decatur portion of Keyston Lodge and it was like a loft with everything you needed. I definitely recommend the Horse Back Riding trips offered by Keystone. Not cheap but worth it. I did the one hour and it's not a plan that let's you run the horse but the path is not flat and simple. Next year I'll do the two hour one.

Visit here frequently. Just upgraded the spa, very fun. Good access to mountain biking, golf, ski. Ask for a room not near the ice machines, they are kind of loud. Free parking if you want to walk a little (I hate other ski area hotels that do not offer this). Usually very clean, can get an average room with a deck for viewing the mountains and river.
