“Not happy diners”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 7, 2014 via mobile

We made reservations. When we showed up the host didn't know we were coming. He was clearly overwhelmed and told us there were 9 ticket orders ahead of us so didn't think we'd get dinner on timely manner. We were fine with that. Service was poor...had to get own water. Dinner was very late and showed up without my son's order. We all had finished our dinner and he still didn't get his dinner. When it showed up, it was the wrong order. Need I say more?

“Mixed review”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 7, 2014

I have mixed feelings about Black Bear. On the positive, since this restaurant in located in the Keystone Inn, it is hidden away from all the tourists in the area. On a Saturday evening (about 7 pm), there was no wait and plenty of empty seats. They have a great deck and inside tables that look out over the Snake River and the ski area. My son had the Bison "Bolognese" Spaghetti which he enjoyed and after sampling, wished I had ordered. However, the side of toasted bread tasted a little stale. My husband had one of the flatbread pizzas which he really enjoyed. I had the Strawberry Summer Salad with some grilled chicken thrown in. Although it looked delicious, the dressing was a little bland and really didn't add enough flavoring needed to make the salad sensational. The service was quick and attentive and portion sizes were just about right (going on the larger side).

“hidden gem in Keystone”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 15, 2013

This is inside a Keystone Hotel, not many folks know about the place. We had someone on the lift tell us the food was great. So we tried it, and were not disappointed. The atompshere is very comfortable, quiet with great views of the mountains. We went aroud sunset and the view was beautiful. They have a great salad bar which comes with any dinner. I had the trout, it was my best meal so far on vacation. My husband had the pork tenderloin and it was great also. Our son had a Buffalo burger and he ate everything. We also had homemade ice cream for dinner. Ther service was attentive and we will add this to our list of favorites in Keystone.

“Excellent food, great views of Keystone”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 27, 2012

Had the rocky mountain trout and it was fantastic. Dessert was as well. Price as can be expected at a resort in a ski town, 20-45/person without drinks. Our first time there, and will return. Service was not excellent, a little slow, but good, not bad. Excellent hot coco.

Although we were the only guests in the dining area at the time for dinner and I don't know why, as the food was great. The chef even came out to check on us, very impressive. Staff was very good. We had steaks that melted in your mouth! Highly recommend
