This guesthouse is a small cosy place with only a few rooms. Stayed for several nights and spent the days lying in the hammocks listening to music, meeting interesting travellers and eating great food. Breakfast is awesome...try the French toast. Sometimes had dinner there as well, which was also yum. The guesthouse is located on a quiet laneway close to the beach and is very peaceful.

I didn't stay at Happy Panda but found myself there almost every day. I was drawn in by the real coffee on offer. My coffee visits soon became breakfast every morning.

Happy Panda is a tranquil, very small space that is perfect to relax. The breakfast is outstanding, french toast, italian coffee (obviously), fresh fruit salad..YUM.

If you are in Arugambay, check it out. The lady who runs Happy Panda is delightful. Such a lovely lady and I wish her all the best.

When i checked our bill, i couldn't believe we were there for 5 nights, i went around asking my friends how had that happened. The thing is that when we you stepped inside happy panda, you're entering another world. The lovely garden and outside patio are awesome, there were a couple of hammocks and super chilled chairs. There are only three rooms so the place can t really get busy and it s a perfect place to meet people who go there to enjoy delicious breakfast. The rooms are standard, so don't expect too much, but we had a look around other properties and no one got even closer to the happy panda... the last but not least, the lady that worked there was possibly the best host i ve ever had. Not only she made tasty breakfast and kept the place spot clean, she had the most genuine and beatifull smile of sri lanka. That s why it was so hard to believe we had ended up staying so long... awesome!!

Happy Panda is a very cute three bedroom hotel. It's fairly social as the tiny cafe is just outside the bedrooms, so its easy to meet new people every day. Breakfast is not included, but is very tasty. Also order ahead of time for curry at lunch. One of the best curries i've had in sri lanka! Great budget option in arugam bay

We spent ten wonderful nights at the Happy Panda! We didn't want to leave! Fantastic hosts, including Marta (the cute little dog) and Tiger (a fun little cat). The food was great, we would look forward to breakfast each morning and Rani cooked us an amazing curry dinner. A nice little sanctuary behind the walls with a wonderful garden and lazy hammocks to relax the afternoon away in. I intend to come back to Sri Lanka and will be sure to stay here again!
