We booked the Timble Inn after friend recommendations and where not let down in any way. The staff were attentive and polite and the room (no 5.) was spacious and well presented. The bed was delightful and made sure for a good nights sleep. The food was also very good (bar a split hollandaise sauce). The setting is perfect for a peaceful, rural location within easy reach of Harrogate. Turn right out of the front door and walk down the single road and you will come to Fewston and Swinsty resevoirs which offer very good circular walks on easy access pathways.

Booked The Timble Inn as a stopover for one night on a trip to Yorkshire for a family gathering. We were highly delighted with the rural location - in a very pretty hamlet reached by narrow country lanes - also with the warm welcome and lovely decor.
Our room was overlooking the front with wonderful views of the countryside beyond, it had all the little touches not usually found in a small country Inn. Bathroom/wetroom had luxury toiletries and a large shower - one small point, the basin taps made a rather loud banging noise when turned on! The bed/pillows were the most comfortable we have ever slept on, again well above the norm.
The food was exceptional, the best lamb I've tasted in a long time and was presented with flair and imagination.
We would love to return for a couple of nights to explore this beautiful area and be spoilt yet again by this delightful Inn.

I booked The Timble Inn to stay for Christmas, having heard so many excellent reviews, I was really looking forward to our stay.
I always like to start with the positives....
Ellie, member of staff, excellent customer service, very friendly & a real credit to the Timble Inn.
Room, lovely furnishings with a very comfortable bed.
Restaurant, beautifully decorated with festive trimmings although very cold.
Negatives... We met the other residents in the lounge located in a small house next to the Inn for afternoon tea and also a glass of champagne before dinner, it just lacked any atmosphere and this theme was to continue throughout our stay.
The food on both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day was just average, special mention for the overcooked solid cheese souffle. overall it was very bland and for £85.00 per head, I expected a little more for my Christmas Day meal.
We arranged to eat at 6.15pm on Christmas Day, at the end of our meal the owners and another resident brought their dogs in to the restaurant at 9.30pm, we didn't object but took it as a hint that our meal was over and we went back to our room to watch tv!
We just felt like the focus of the owners of Timble Inn was entirely on the number of covers they could serve in the two sittings on Christmas Day, this opinion was echoed by a member of staff.
Overall our stay lacked any warmth or atmosphere and the food was extremely disappointing.
The total cost of our bill was just under £1000 for two nights, it was just not good enough !

An idyllic little inn, set in beautiful surroundings. The rooms were fantastic with lots of lovely little details to make your stay comfortable. I found the food to be an exceptionally high standard, the staff to be warm and friendly and will definitely be returning. Ideal for a quiet gastro/walking break for friends or couples.

An inn of olde world charm. Visited for a meal with friends. The food served was of exceptional quality and freshness served by attentive and pleasant staff. Very relaxed atmosphere in the dining room, to enjoy the food. An excellent and extensive wine list. It is our intention to stay for a night in the New Year 2013.

We visited the Timble for a pre christmas break. We stayed two nights on the 14th and 15th of December 2012.
We were met as usual with a wonderful warm welcome. The staff are such lovely people.
We stayed in room 10 which is in a seperate building. The room was fabulous and oh so quiet. The standard of luxury in the rooms is first class.
We had the duck spring rolls and the prawns to start. All of which were wonderful. The taste and presentation are second to none.I do wonder how previous visitors have found the food to be bland and lacking in flavour and lacking in presentation!!!
Our main courses on the first night was Nidderdale lamb, do ask if you dont like lamb pink, my hubby thoroughly enjoyed his and asked for it to be cooked a little longer than pink.I had the steak which was wonderful. The Tinble is the only place I have steak as it is so very well presented and cooked. We even tried the boozy christmas pud which was again fabulous.
The second night we had the same starters as we had enjoyed then so much the previous night. For mains we had the steak in ale pie and I had the cod all of which was above first class.
The service is also first class and the owners, young american lady and the young female waitresess are a credit to the Timble .We love the place and were so dissapointed that we couldnt get over at Christmnas as planned. We will visit again and we would highly recommend the Inn.Thank you Timble for another wonderful stay.
Forgot to mention the Timble breakfast which are lovely , fabulous local produce cooked to a lovely standard.
As for decor the Inn is gorgeous, very clasically decorated and just wonderful.Just warm and welcoming as an inn should be.

Room Tip: Room 5 and 10 are gorgeous.please note a deposit is always required.

A pre Christmas meal at the Timble turned out to be a mediocre experience.I`ve been twice before and still find the place and the food rather "flat".The interior is attractive although bordering on having neen "tarted up".the welcome is underwhelming and that`s what runs through the establishment.
The food is very basic-simple cooking and lacking presentation. The owners need to inject personality into both the place and the plate!
