I was here for 26 days and I was very pleased with my stay. The primary reason I picked this hotel was its close proximity to my work and the full kitchen and amenities. Here's a rundown on my thoughts:
Very spacious room! Never felt crowded or stuffy. Tons of storage in the kitchen and the closet was plenty big enough for my month's worth of clothes. The vanity in the bathroom also had plenty of storage, along with the medicine cabinet.
Even though the property wasn't fully gated, I still felt safe being a woman there by myself. I never ran into any nefarious characters, even when coming back late at night. I also never had anyone bother me in my room.
The way the suite is laid out is very smart, I especially liked being able to turn the tv to watch from the couch or from bed. The bar stools in the kitchen were great for eating dinner. The full size appliances were also really great! There were plenty of dishes and pots and pans for me. The fireplace was a nice feature, except I didn't use it since it was summer when I visited.
The front desk staff were all super nice and helpful. They would make change for the laundry room with no problems and were always very friendly. The breakfast was nice, although after about 2 weeks it got a little repetitive. The do have an evening get together with food and drinks, but I never was able to take advantage of it due to my work schedule.
There is a decent sized pool, a basketball court, some grills, a fire pit and chairs, and a nice workout room. Pretty much anything you need to keep occupied! There are also plenty of restaurants in close proximity to the hotel, you could walk to many of them.
The laundry room was nice and clean. $1.25 to wash and $1.25 to dry and the machines all worked very well, no need to do 2-3 dryer cycles! Generally there wasn't a wait for a machine.
Free Wifi was great too, you just had to re-login every day.
Not enough hangers for my month's worth of clothes. I had to go to Target and buy more, along with a laundry hamper to be able to haul clothes to the laundry room.
The people above me had a dog and it was so annoying and loud. I had fully unpacked and didn't feel like having to move my month's worth of stuff, so there wasn't much I could do. I could hear the dog barking viciously and running around, I was nervous to meet them outside judging by the way the dog sounded.
The bed was really squeaky, although not enough to interrupt my sleep
There weren't any shelves in the shower, so I had to line the tub with my full-size toiletries, which resulted in knocking them over and out of the shower often. Some ledges in the shower or a shower caddy would be nice.
The cleaning crew did a so-so job. I only had them come once a week and it seemed like they only did the bare minimum in my room. They wouldn't throw away obvious trash on the nightstand or island and I had killed several bugs and their carcasses were still laying on the floor when I checked out. I think the bugs came from the carts they push around and leave sitting outside as I only had bugs on the days they came and cleaned (two spiders, two earwig type bugs, and one fly). Also, they didn't run the dishwasher even when I was completely out of plates, so I bought my own dishwasher tablets and ran it myself.
My room was right by the road and a big high rise, so I had a lot of noise from that, especially when there were concerts at Fiddler's Green. Of course, this is why I always bring ear plugs to hotels! Not loud enough to disrupt my sleep.
The property is showing its age with the paint peeling on the wooden trim and the metal railings had rust, but overall the hotel is well-taken care of. I haven't seen another Residence Inn with the sliding doors and patios, so that was a really nice feature.
I definitely recommend this hotel, especially if you need a long-term place to stay. If I ever find myself back in the Tech Center, I'll be booking at this hotel!
