My brother-in-law and I stayed here July 25th,26th,leaving on the 27th.He has 2 small dogs and even though we had no reservation on the Sunday we pulled into Grand Lake and knowing our options for pet friendly lodging were very limited we lucked out with this lovely and quaint motel.

One moment stands out for myself and spoke volumes to me about the service and efficiency of the staff.I walked back to the hot tub in the small gazebo at the back of the property around 9pm and found the lights of the gazebo turned off and the cover on the hot tub.
I went into the office to ask whether the hot tub was available and was told yes by the female owner.
By the time I walked back to the hot tub with my suit on and a towel under my arm;all of 3 minutes;the lights had been turned on and the cover had been removed from the hot tub.

It's always the small little attention to detail that tell me whether I'm staying at an 'ok' place or whether, like at Spirit Lake Lodge they do the little extras like I mentioned above that put it a notch or 2 above other places.

I'd recommend staying at Spirit Lodge to anyone I knew.

Our stay in Grand Lake wasn't long enough! My family used to vacation there in the 70s and we stayed at Preisler's Lodge, across the lake from town. It's long gone, but I found a sign, still pointing the way! The main street, lined by boardwalks and pots of flowers, still has its small town flavor. People are friendly, it's safe, and there is something for everyone -- from hiking to water sports to just enjoying the stunning scenery!

We were looking for an affordable place that had more of a mountain feel and less than a hotel feel. Our suite had a fireplace, microwave, and refrigerator. The rooms were small, but not so much that it wasn't pleasant. The suite was extremely clean. The landscaping was beautiful. The view of the mountains was perfect. We found the staff to be friendly. It seemed to be a family run place. The bed was comfortable. It is located right in the center of town and the lake is a short walk away. We really loved this place and would go back to stay again when we get the chance.

We stayed here one Saturday night in late August. Had 2 fireplace suites which were nice but the bedrooms are small. Rooms were very clean. Front desk was very friendly and helpful, even after my repeated calls to them about changing rooms and bringing my dog. They are pet friendly but you need to tell them in advance as not all rooms take pets. Great location on the main street so walking all over town was no problem - even for my 78 year old father from sea level. It's a friendly charming little town too. The only down side would be that you could hear easily through the walls in the bedroom. I could hear people talking in normal voice level next door in the evening. The pictures on their website don't do the rooms justice. They are cozier than shown. I would stay here again.

Nice clean room with comfortable beds. Room was sized right for 2 queen beds. They have a limited number of rooms, no pool or breakfast. We were passing through and the place looked nice so we stopped. Price was very reasonable. They are located on the main road in town and you can walk to anything in town from the lodge. Manager was foreign and he spoke broken English and was very short with any conversation but he brought extra towels when we asked and was never rude.
