We stayed at Mountain Lakes Lodge this past weekend and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We stayed in the Bear Collector Unit. These are not actually cabins but motel type units. Each unit has very unique and fun themed decor. Each unit also has a fenced in back yard with grill and deck and access to the water canal. There are chairs and swings located throughout the property for relaxing and a campfire in the evening. Our unit had a small loft (unit can sleep 2 adults and two children), log furniture and a kitchenette with everything you could possibly need including a stove/oven, fridge/freezer and microwave. There is a table and two chairs. There is a full bath with stand-up shower (no tub). Our unit also had a cute corner stove for heat and ambiance. There was a free standing fan and a space heater (safe for children with cool touch). Most of the windows have screens for cross ventilation. There is a small closet with a few metal hangers. If you are concerned about wrinkled clothes, bring nicer hangers and hangers with clips for hanging slacks and skirts if needed. There is a nice large dresser. The drive to Grand Lake only takes a few minutes and we never had any problem finding a place to park. This property is also perfect for children with the fully fenced and securely gated back yards and a small playground. You may have to do a little baby proofing with toddlers, but most of the fun decor is up high on the walls and ceilings. There was even room for a Pack-n-Play!! Please note though, that the walls between the units are thin and that if your child tends to get aggravated easily, that your neighbors will hear everything. Taking them for a drive in your car may be an excellent idea! We were in the older lodge, ask the owners about the walls in the newer lodge if this is a concern. If you bring your computer....please note that there was no internet connection in our unit (there may be a connection at the office, we saw several people on laptops there) and that several of the plug-ins are not three-prong. We were able to re-arrange a bit and use our laptops for scrapbooking...bring a power strip. Verizon Wireless gets cell service on the property, but Virgin Mobile does not. We arrived at 9:00 pm the evening of our stay and had no problems checking in. The few times that we needed to talk to the owners, they were available as they live on site and they keep an eye on the office even if it is closed. There is a number on the door if the office is closed. The owners did indicate that they are new owners. We did not note any of the past problems that other reviewers mentioned. The units are very clean with crisp white sheets, fluffy pillows (2 each on the big bed and two in the loft area) and white towels in the bathroom. Ladies....bring a dark colored washcloth or disposable wipes for face washing. The owners have gone above and beyond with supplying these cabins with items that you may need. We were lacking NOTHING!! Hope this review helps you make an informed decision. Enjoy your stay.

We're glad you enjoyed your stay in our uniquely decorated units! We love to see guests use the games we loan out. (We also have books, magazines and DVDs that we loan out at no cost.) We've really made an effort to anticipate guest needs and stock all the kitchenette items, linens and basic cleaning supplies they might need. The "Welcome Book" in each room list the many additional items available on request. We appreciate guests who communicate their needs to us, so that we can do our best to meet those needs.

The unit worked well for a family of 5 and is very cosy. You need to pick up the keys at the office on the main road and then take a short drive down to the lakefront. The outdoor terrasse have the most fantastic lake view and is roofed which is very convenient for the occasional evening rain. The front lawn has a swing and a picnic area and is great for kids playing. It was very quiet when we were there and we enjoyed frequent visits of hummingbirds. Although the cleaning could have been better we found this a good value stay in the pricy Grand Teton Lake Area. We stayed there for 2 nights which was fine.

We stayed in the Out-On-A-Limb cabin with our 16 year-old daughter and two dogs and were completely charmed from the moment we pulled up to the lodge. The room was clean, comfortable and spacious. The decor is kitschy but appropriate for the location and spirit of the environment. The view was lovely with deer grazing along the canal that the Lodge backs up to. It's a quick drive to the little town of Grand Lake which is cute, albeit a little touristy, with a good place to get coffee. We cooked both nights in the well-equipped kitchenette but there were decent-looking restaurants in both directions as well as in town. There isn't AC but our unit had ceiling and floor fans and there were screens on the windows. Even though it was late July, we slept comfortably with the fans going and the windows open. The noise from the road was minimal. It is also just a few minutes from the entrance to the Rocky Mountain National Park which is gorgeous and serene. It is an excellent place for a relaxing, no stress getaway.

Room Tip: We really liked #6, Out-On-A-Limb. All of the units #6 and above are slightly elevated with good views and are back from the road.

Never been to Grand Lake and selected Mountain Lakes Lodge (North Shore) and was not disappointed. They have two groups of cabin, rustic and the more modern ones at North Shore, which is where I stayed. North Shores is right off the edge of Grand Lake and I had a private area to walk my dog, sit by the lake. Behind the cabins is a grass area for children to play, people to BBQ and enjoy the mountain view. The cabin had a full kitchen, Direct TV (cable) and where clean and spacious. I will definitely return. It is about a five mile drive from town.

Room Tip: they have fall specials

We will be using Mountain Lakes Lodge again-for our family, friends and just spouse and me visits. They have cabin sizes to meet any of your needs, and they are clean, full of charm and character. the cabin locations are easy and accessible and close to town, sites and resturuants, while at the same time quiet & cozy
There is great fishing right outside the back door from a canal that runs from Granby Lake to Shadow Mtn Lake, great catches!, We had excellent views of all kinds of wildlife, from foxes, eagles, moose all in the area or on site.
We, husband, son and I, went while there was still a bit of snow on the ground, so the large camp fire site & area were not in use, but we did use the bbq in our fenced yard area out back, and we able to bring our 2 dogs along on the trip-and this was important to us, they are part of our family too! Great Place, we are already planning another visit this summer and bringing more family with us. I give this place all thumbs up! Grand Lake is a beautiful place to visit & Mountain Lakes Lodge made our stay comfortable, family & pet friendly, we could not have asked for more.
