Made reservations on line..Very easy to use. Wanted to go see Moose as they move about the lake area in late September... Relatively new place and very nice amenities.

The continental breakfast was great to get us off first thing in the morning and they were very accomodating with our late arrival..Thanks Gateway Inn, we will be back sooner than you think

We have stayed at the Gateway Inn three times now and each time has been great. The staff is friendly and the location is perfect. The rooms were clean and the hand-crafted log furniture was very comfortable and complimented the ambience. This visit, we had a view of the lake and what a view it was. We will be staying here every time we visit Grand Lake.

A great combination of rustic and modern. Loved the comfortable rooms, complete with western-styled wood furniture. We stayed in a HUGE double queen room on the first floor. The self-serve kitchen in the bar area was a nice convenience when we wanted to reheat some leftovers or warm-up a cup of water for tea. Our room had a refridgerator, too. The bar and deck have a spectacular view of Mount Baldy and Grand Lake. I spent a lot of time just sitting in the sun, admiring the view. The deck seating includes groups of chairs around fire pits, and I wished it had been cool enough to enjoy it. The hotel is only a couple of miles away from the RMNP entrance, and we often felt like we had the park to ourselves. The location made it convenient for elk-watching at night. Everyone there, from the owners to the other guests, seemed very happy. Quite an enjoyable stay.

We chose this hotel because of it's great reviews. We agree that this is one of the nicest places we have ever stayed. For us, its location right at the entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park was perfect. In the evening we could go in the park and see the elk bugle and get back to our room in just a few minutes.

The hotel is super clean and the rooms are just as shown on the website. Really charming decor. The atmosphere is freindly and the whole place is non-smoking. The cost is very reasonable and they even serve a continental breakfast. Completely satified.!

Our family was looking for a quiet and scenic place to rest, relax and rejuvenate. We came across a hotel called Gateway Inn which turned out to be the most beautiful place in Grand Lake, Colorado. When we first walked into the hotel, my children were thrilled to see the giant flat screen with a WII system enticing them to take a closer look into the main visitors room.

I was amazed to see the breath taking views of the mountains as I walked out onto the wrap aound deck with plush chairs and pitted fireplace tables. I sank into one of these comfortable chairs and did not get up again for two hours. There was an outdoor bar and sweet smelling flowers hanging over the railings of the deck. Down below the wrap around deck, was a redwood Gazebo and inside it was a jacuzzi with drink holders and cool lights that lid up the flowing and bubbling hot water . Just to the right of the jacuzzi was a gorgeous waterfall along a minerature putt putt golf.

Aside from some of the amenities, I must admit the waitstaff really made the difference between having an O.K. time and having a great time. They were always willing to help out to make our stay comfortable and made us feel welcomed. One of the staff even popped me some popcorn. I felt safe to allow my children to walk around together without accompanying them because I saw that there was always someone available so they were not alone. (my kids are 11, 12 & 14yrs. old).

Their continental breakfast had tasty treats, healthy items and an overall variety to choose from with the hours extending longer than posted. I remember being hungry and found myself in their kitchnette preparing a snack to tie me over to the next day.

We had a roomy, quiet, clean, well lit, room with two king size beds, plenty of pillows and lots blankets. Our mini refrigerator came in handy late into the night which turned into the early morning hours for some of us who stayed up watching movies.

Each morning before heading out for the day, we got help with suggestions on what there was to do, where to eat or finding out what they had going on that day at the hotel. As it turned out, most of their suggestions were great! We had a "Bonding Good Time" together as a family.

So often I have found that you read about a hotel and what it has to offer; its' amenities, activities and even the rooms only to discover that it was all embelished down to the last detail. However, the Gateway Inn is NOT one of those places. You truly get what is advertised and much more! This establishment is clean, beautiful, has great views, and an honest, heart warming staff who always take the time to make your stay enjoyable. Oh and did I mention, you probably will not find another place like this in Grand Lake with its affordable prices.
