Stopped in for breakfast. Little pricey. Food was ok. Had a bagel with egg, bacon and cheese. It could have used more bacon. Was going to buy a bottle of water, but the cooler that it was in was not turned on, so the water was warm.

The place was busy but the food was poor and the service was slow and surly. It is fairly cheap but i would have preferred to pay a bit more for better food. It has a good locatin so has the potential to do even better trade but i would not try it again.

We ignored the Fat Cat's line for breakfast and headed directly to the Blue Water because of the "cafe feel" to it. I ordered their house burrito and it was awesome when compared to the rest of the food offerings in Grand Lake. Fresh ingredients, cooked with care and tasted great. The kids had cinnamon rolls and they seemed to really enjoy it. (Then again, who makes a BAD cinnamon roll....?) We managed to get some outdoor seats with a nice view of the water. Best morning at Grand Lake by far!

Eggs benedict were terrible. Potatoes and eggs were cold, bread was so tough it could hardly be cut with the plastic knife and fork provided for eating. Sauce was nearly non-existent. Two in our party received their meals after about a 15 minute wait, the other 2 had to wait another 15 minutes for theirs.

Service: other than taking the order and your money at a counter and cooking the meals, there was none. Everything was self serve, including getting your own water, picking up the meal when your name is called and bussing your own table.

Ambience: Next to the condiment bar sit 3 open trash cans. One 30 gallon trash can for recyclables, a pot for unused liquids and another 30 gallon trash can for uneaten food. The recyclable can was less than 2 feet from the customer and his family eating at a table. All 3 trash cans are less than 5 feet from where you pick up your food. To reach the paper cups to get your own water, you have to reach over the trash can for the uneaten food.

We only went there because the Fat Cat was closed. Won't go back.

This place has a killer location with a view of Grand Lake from the patio, and the hippy vibe inside is excellent. The food eventually was great, but the wait was uncalled for - 30-45 minutes for a basic breakfast dish at a café. Everyone around us was waiting as well. They need to step up on the service to match their food, or it won't matter how good it is if it's never delivered.
