“Will Rent Again!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 21, 2012

We were sceptical about renting the Treehouse but after my phone conversation with Tracy I am so glad we decided to rent. Tracy was warm, friendly and welcoming so we decided to travel and stay at the Western Riviera. The Treehouse was a beautiful upper 2 bedroom clean, comfortable, private cabin overlooking Grand Lake. Thanks Tracy for making our stay so relaxing. It was great to meet you and talk about the area.

Room Tip: If you don't mind spending the extra money, rent the treehouse. It is private, has a full kitch...

The location we stayed in (courtyard cabins) was 1 block from main street, and 2 blocks from the lake. They were having a slow weekend and upgraded us to their nicest cabin since we had a friend coming up to stay for the weekend.

The staff were SO helpful, friendly, and the customer service was great. We were impressed by the ammenities, staff, and location.

We will be going back again and recommend Western Riviera for their array of housing options.

The Western Riviera is probably the best you can do in this town. There's good reason to go to this side of the National Park, but its not for the accommodations, the food, the lake, or the town atmosphere. The Riviera is more like an old style motel than anything else. The rooms are old and tired, the view is towards the lake but over the parking lot, and you better hope for neighbors who don't want to stay out on the balcony all night gabbing. Not a lot of privacy, either, since everyone can see into your room as they walk by unless you have the blinds closed, which sort of defeats the purpose of the "lake view." On the other hand, there is a really nice breakfast place right around the corner.

Yes, the rooms need updating, but they are clean and comfortable. It really is a great place to stay in Grand Lake. Tracy in the office is very nice and helpful, offering great suggestions for meals and activities. The view of the lake from your room is amazing! You can walk anywhere in town quickly and easily from this location. I will stay there again!

Room Tip: The King rooms are larger and have a table, microwave, and small fridge.

Walk out your door onto a nice deck and look right out at the Deepes natural lake in Colorado!
There are amazing pictures at every time of the day! The owners are friendly, Grand Lake Folks. They love to get to know their guests and visitors, as do all the merchants in this quaint lovely place. We come to Grand lake often in the summer, and winter. There is always some festival, play, cook off, or yachting thing going on there. But one block off main street and you can relax in your hotel away from the noice (except for 4th of July, then you just join in!) and tourists. Love it! Hotel is clean comfortable.

Room Tip: Book early! Rent a boat, take a lake tour! Rent ATVS, Horses or snowmobiles! This is the place to...

This hotel is very close to Rocky Mountain National Park. We found Grand Lake to be very enjoyable and the hotel is within walking distances to resturants. As other reviewers have noticed the rooms are dated, however they are clean and after hiking all day that is all that really matters.

We stayed here for a night while travelling through the mountains. The hotel is perfectly situated right on the edge of Grand Lake - a really beautiful location.

Upon arriving I was a little disappointed with the room. It seemed in desperate need of an update with tired looking furniture, bed and carpets. Normally this wouldn't have bothered me, but after paying approximately £100 for a night it didn't strike me as fabulous value. The view from the room of the lake is beautiful if a tiny bit spoilt by the car park which is the first thing you see when looking out!

Another minor point is no coffee or tea making facilities are provided within the rooms. This is not a major inconvenience but I did find this a little strange. It's worth pointing out that coffee making facilities are provided within a communal room behind the reception area, and there is obviously nothing stopping you getting a coffee and taking it back to your room.

As positives, the hotel provides free car parking and internet access.

I wouldn't have a problem staying here again with hindsight of knowing what to expect. However, I do think the price charged is quite excessive considering what you get.
