It's too bad that the once-magnificent trees around Grand Lake are practically non-existant now, but despite that fact, Grand Lake Lodge is a wonderful place to stay! From the outside, the cabins don't look like much, but inside, they are cozy and full of amenities like newly-remodeled bathrooms, comfortable beds, tasteful decor, and -- in our cabin, anyway -- a nice sitting room with a fridge and seating. Our large cabin even had two bathrooms!
We stayed too early in the season for the pool to be open, but the views from the patio are absolutely gorgeous. The food in the restaurant is fantastic and the service impeccable -- be sure to sit out on the all-glass patio if you can! The gift shop has some really unique items and souveniers and it was more fun to browse there than at your typical genaric gift shop.
We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely return!
