Nice place to stop and gather information. Always nice to have a restroom in that area with running water.

“Open everyday”
Reviewed July 18, 2012

This visitor center is open every day. They have a wonderful view and their roof and counter are made from trees that were killed by bark beetles. When bark beetles attack a tree they kill it with Blue Stain Fungus. As its name implies, it stains the wood blue.

The volunteers are a wealth of information. They're friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. They can give you direction to all the best places and upcoming events. Want a great chocolate shop? A wonderful bakery? How about the best place to have breakfast. This is the place to get answers and help planning your trip.

“Self-Serve Visitor Center.”
Reviewed August 6, 2011

When we were there only 1 person was at the front desk to help and she was more worried about watering the plants than helping customers. Her knowledge of the area was limited and her overall assistance was only slightly helpful. Clean building with plenty of brochures and literature for the taking. A bit lower on the customer service levels than other visitors centers.

Plan to do some of your own research. Don't rely on assistance for your activities planning.
