Description: il Bistro Italiano opened in August 1998. Our focus is on bringing a combination of traditional Italian dishes together with some innovative ones created within the boundaries of modern Italian cuisine. The pastas, breads, sauces, and desserts are all made at the restaurant from fresh ingredients. Our wine list features a large selection of wines from Italy and Colorado, and whenever possible, we use local ingredients in our kitchen. There is always something going on at the Bistro, so look at the Events Section to learn of special wine nights, cooking classes or other featured events.

Entrees needed more seasoning. Service was fair way too many no's. slow salads were "backed up in kitchen" or she forgot our ticket. Pretty avg.

Although we had just arrived in town and it was a Friday night, the hostess found a table for us as they were full with reservations. It didn't take long to see why it was full. The wait staff was very personable and knowledgeable of the menu and the food was excellent. I might add that it is located in downtown Grand Junction which is very charming. This was our first visit to the area.

We stayed in the downtown area of Grand Junction, having never been here before..Walked around trying to find someplace for dinner. Viola, we found Il Bistro Italiano. Greeting was VG, was seated at a table that was in a quiet location.

Service was good, a bit slow at times, but that was likely due to how busy they were, surprising for a week night,

Food was excellent. We tried the bresaola and it was VG. I ordered the eggplant parm and it was excellent. I am a carnivore but this dish was wonderful, and very reasonably priced.

My wife got the Crespelle (entree) and she loved it. Wine prices are very reasonable, and they have some excellent choices.

We would definitely return here..and highly recommend it.

Mangia..

This is a bright, inviting restaurant. The sauces and the bread are both tasty and fresh----these are dealbreakers for me at an Italian restaurant. The traditional Italian dishes are all here. . Heavy on the garlic, so watch out if thats a problem. Veal saltimbocca was particularly good. The veal had been tenderized (i.e. pounded), and was well seasoned and well prepared. They do a good riff on caesar salad, and most importantly, they didnt overdress the Romano lettuce. The service is indifferent. My guess is they are college kids who don't have any *skin in the game.* Bottom line..I would return. But you have to remember, this is Grand Junction, where there is a distinct dearth of good restaurants.

il Bistro Italiano is located on Main Street in the beautiful downtown area of Grand Junction. As you walk past the restaurant, the smells of deliciousness entice you in. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our dinner there. The menu had so many possibilities that we had a hard time choosing what to eat. We decided to share items so that we had more to sample. The restaurant provided delicious, crusty bread and a cheese spread to start. We ordered a house salad and calamari as apetizers-both were tasty and well-prepared. We also shared a small, thin crust Margharita pizza that rivaled the best New York pizza we have had. The veal marsala dish was very tasty-the veal was very tender, and the sauce was not too rich. It had a little of a sweet taste due to the carmelized onions. We shared a piece of delicious chocolate cake for dessert. The service was great--very attentive. This place is highly recommended.
