“One of my favorite Downtown districts”

Downtown Grand Junction

Having lived in Colorado for 17 years, I took Grand Junction for granted until I visited their thriving Downtown District. This a truly unique destination for dining, shopping and cultural events. Sculptures designed by local artists add that "extra special touch" on every single block of the downtown area. Traffic is light as the design of Main Street naturally gives way to pedestrians over vehicles. If you are a fan of originality and "mom and pop" shops over the big name box stores, make this stop a priority when you visit Grand Junction. You will not regret the detour!

Visited downtown about 38 yrs. ago not long after downtown was developed with limited traffic and lots of places to sit and relax or go shopping. Trees are much bigger now and a few business changes. Well worth visiting.

I've traveled the world and found few downtown areas with this much character. I love the Art on the Corner first and foremost and then their enterprising Legends sculptures of people who were important parts of the town's history. This aren't silly head busts but imaginative full size sculptures. Carry on, Grand Junction, keep your visionary focus and don't be the dusty, dead end oil town some would like for you to be.

We were there on Sunday, so it is VERY quiet in Grand Junction. Most stores are closed. It was 100 degrees outside. There are water fountains for the kids to play in downtown. Our son enjoyed that immensely!

Walked around downtown after dinner. Numerous and fun sculptures. Lots of interesting shops. Will have to come back during the day to really appreciate.
