Great location, staff provided superior service. Clean, well presented accommodations. Breakfast was good, lots of variety, but the scrambled eggs were oily and crumbly. A hotel of this caliber should have a refrigerator in the room. Our room was next to the vending & ice machines - which were noisy and disruptive at night. Air conditioner kept going on and off throughout the night, which was disruptive to sleep. Otherwise, a good experience in a nice hotel.

Clean, fairly new and in a great location on Main Street. Evenings were quiet, staff was friendly and hot breakfast was good every morning. We had a lovely visit and this will be our first choice for return visits. We even had the whole pool area to ourselves! The price was fantastic and we couldn't have been happier with our stay.

Grand Junction has poured a lot of money into their downtown area. New streets, statues and flowers. It is still rough though. there isn't much to do in downtown. All the shops on a Tuesday night were closed early and the choices of places to eat were limited at best. I found it to be depressing and couldn't wait to leave the city.

The Hampton Inn is tired and shows a lot of signs of wear and tear, even though it has been renovated. The pool in is front and is the size of a hot tub. The elevator is very small and I was worried about my car. I saw quite a few people who looked homeless and I inquired at the front desk about car break ins. My car was fine the next morning.

It isn't a bad hotel, but in retrospect I would have stayed north of here out by Interstate 70. A lot more places to eat and I might not have feel so weird about the area I was in. Over a seven day stretch, this was the only time I was concerned for my safety and not satisfied with what the area had to offer. I won't recommend to anyone that they should stay in downtown Grand Junction for a great time.

We stayed here during our CO road trip en route from Denver to Durango. It was a great place to stop! Everything was very clean, the check in staff was so friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was the best free hotel breakfast we have had. Kudos to this Hampton Inn, such a great place to crash. And Grand Junction was a great stop - don't miss Dinosaur Hill and the Colorado National Monument!

We booked this Hampton Inn to stay in for one night as part of a 16 day trip with my husband, our adult son and myself. We like Hampton Inns and being on Main Street seemed like it would be an advantage as we would be able to get out and walk around a bit.

All the previously mentioned construction on Main Street is completed. However, on the day we arrived, there was going to be an event on Main Street. So, some of the streets were closed for that and we had to navigate our way around that.

Check in was fine. The elevator is in kind of a funny location and it’s a little difficult to maneuver the luggage cart onto it. Our room was okay, but felt like it could have been cleaner. The pool is outdoors, looked a little forlorn and we did not use it while we were there. There are no laundry facilities in the hotel, but you are able to use those in the hotel right next door, which is what we did. Breakfast was okay, but not as good as we have come to expect from Hampton Inns. Check out was fine as well.

We arrived on a Thursday afternoon and found out that there was to be a farmer’s market that evening on Main Street, explaining the street closings. We did walk around a bit at that and bought a few souvenirs.

Now, on to the problems with this hotel. Through no fault of the hotel itself, they were evidently having a charitable pancake breakfast in the building next door that faced our room. At 6:15 a.m., a man came on a loudspeaker between the buildings and began announcing a welcome to the pancake breakfast and other pertinent information about it. It was so loud that when it woke me, I actually thought it was something coming through the hotel’s PA system at first. He continued to make announcements every few minutes, so that was the end of our sleep. I did hear at least one other guest complaining about the noise to the front desk, to which the clerk responded “Was it loud?”

After showering, we decided to go down to breakfast. I don’t know what happened in that hall on our floor the night before, but the smell was terrible. It was almost enough to gag you.

There clearly aren’t enough luggage carts, so we had to wait about 20 minutes for someone to finish with one so we could check out and get on our way.

I did contact Hampton Inn after we returned home. The hotel manager emailed me and offered a refund, but we declined. Chalk it up to live and learn!

All in all, we won’t stay at this Hampton Inn again.

This is a Hampton Inn; it should be "basic/ordinary" and it is.

The front desk staff was fantastic. The hotel/rooms were clean. The location is great (& the construction that previous writers mention is completely finished).

The hotel smells too much of what I commonly refer to as "hotel small" fragrance. The hot food on the breakfast was awful. There is a very good selection; but the eggs, bacon, etc. seemed to be warmed over "Sysco leftovers". THe bed was too soft (good for some, bad for us). The A/C (thermostat) makes an annoying clicking every time it cycles. The walls are thin & we could here most everything from the neighbouring room. The wifi (free) was very slow.

Our negatives would fit most lower end hotels and don't make this a bad choice; but their price was too high for the quality given.

*** When we checked out we forgot a pillow we brought with us (a Tempurpedic). We called later that day (from home) and asked them to check the room for it. They did & said it wasn't there. They said they'd check with housekeeping & call us back. The pillow never showed up. ***

I know we shouldn't have forgot it; but it really should have made it into their "lost & found". It's too big/nice to have ust ended up in "oblivion"!

First stay at this property, but have stayed at many, many Hamptons before, as well as many other properties in Grand Junction. First off, although it is not the fault of the hotel, the Main Street reconstruction is a problem. The hotel is difficult to get to with all the street closures, check in is less convenient, security is compromised with all the back doors left open, and walking to a bar or restaurant is problematic. You have to walk around rubble, fences, large construction vehicles, and debris all over the place. Main Street is torn up and closed. Check on this before you go. Having said this, I have to say many nice things about the property. The woman who checked us in on Sunday was bright and helpful. The hotel has a nice feel and look that is more B and B than typical Hampton Inn. Extra amenities in bathroom were nice. Good work desk in room. Lots of free parking. Minor negatives: old style TV in room needs to be upgraded. The room (non-smoking)had an unpleasant cigarette smoke odor, but we were able to open the window to let in fresh air. There is only one small elevator and we often had to wait. If Main Street is fixed, this is a good choice. If not, stay somehwere off of Horizon Drive.
