“Incredible mountain beauty and recreation”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 2, 2013

The Grand Mesa is a treasure of peaks, ridges, meadows and lakes. It provides water to the valley below, recreation in all seasons including excellent skiing and hiking, and much beauty and tranquility.

“Look for a moose”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 2, 2013

You should try to find a moose up there. Many people see them and it is one of the few places they exist in Colorado. We love to go fishing on the many lakes in the summer. There are many ATV trails that our whole family can enjoy. Winter time is a snowmobilers paradise. Of course we always like to stop in for a hot chocolate at Andersons Lodge.

“Grand Mesa”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 27, 2013

A visit to Grand Junction is worth it just for the Colorado National Monument. Depending on season/weather interests and fitness here is a compact area of great beauty. You can drive, bike and walk and the very fit could spend a few days just in this one place. Grand Junction has good hotels at good prices and good restaurants. Road communications are excellent and a drive on 141 well worth the time. Air communications are getting better and the airport has been considerably improved.

“An easy way to see high alpine Colorado”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 25, 2013

An easy 1/2 to full day side trip from Grand Junction, one can get over 10,000 feet on a paved road and see beautiful colors and great panoramas without leaving your car. A great loop trip from Grand Junction is to take Highway 65 up the Mesa and come back on Lands End Road to Highway 50. The Mesa also offers several great hikes and many lakes for canoeing. It features wonderful wildflowers in the spring/summer, great aspen colors in the fall, and maintained cross country skiing trails in the winter.

“Spectacular Grand Mesa”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 25, 2013

The Grand Mesa offers a wonderful drive - especially on a sunny day in Fall when the contrasting colors and lakes are beyond compare.

There are also great recreational opportunities here on the Grand Mesa:

Hiking over the Crag Crest
Downhill Skiing at Powderhorn
Snow-shoeing and cross-country skiing at Skyline
