200 fresh water lakes, and flat forest in Colorado. If you're not one for hiking steep inclines, then this is the place for you. Bring your bug spray in the summer. In the winter it's wonderful to snowshoe through, but if there's too much snow the road will be closed.

Grand Mesa! Just like it sounds. Views of the valley and the surrounding areas. Beautigul drive from Palisade and drive over the top and come down through Delta. Love the scenery.

The fall colors can't be beat as the Aspens turn golden! Snowshoeing and cross country ski trails abound -- County Line and Mesa Lakes areas are dog friendly while Skyway is not. Wildlife viewing can be a special treat with bear, moose and other critters wandering around. There's a plethora of wildflowers in the spring (which can be as late as June). There are some drawbacks -- NO GAS STATIONS!, and the road winds (but there are plenty of pull outs for picture taking).

Which ever road you choose to travel on will bring you scenery that is beautiful - though the road through Mesa to Cedaridge is the only one open in the winter months. You can see all the way to Utah! Watch for deer, elk, moose, pine squirrels and all sorts of other wild life. During the summer months you see cattle grazing and don't forget about all the lakes.

Whether it is an afternoon drive over the Grand Mesa, the worlds largest flat top mountain with 101 lakes, camping trip to Vega Resevoir, skiing at Powderhorn Ski Resort or an intimate wedding ceremony, you are sure to find what you need. Beautiful, scenic and a well maintained road with views of the Grand Valley below. A magical place!
