Stayed one night in Granby after touring Rocky Mountains National Park. Our room was very interesting and eclectic. It actually had two bedrooms and one bathroom. It had no air conditioning but stayed reasonably cool at night despite heat outside. It was clean enough but a little rough around the edges. Okay for a one-night stay. Good bagel breakfast with coffee in the morning. The motel is right in the middle of town unlike others listed in Granby which offers some convenience in terms of finding some place to eat.

As other reviewers have emphasized, this place is clean and charming. Conveniently located on the highway, it is easy to find. The rooms are small but well furnished, including dressers, a small kitchen-type table, refrigerator, microwave, shelving, small closet for hanging items, and even a roll of paper towels in the "kitchen" area of the room. I could certainly see this as a possible ski weekend venue, although I think it would be important to have a two bedroom unit. Tracy and Dale provide excellent customer service, and they make good coffee. During a walk in the neighborhood I came to appreciate Granby's amenities -- including a lovely library, park and school nearby -- and met some nice people as well.

Room Tip: We were happy with room 4, as it was set back from the highway. However, there wasn't much traf...

Thank you so much! It is really nice to know when our guests are happy with their stay. Dale and Tracy work very hard at the motel and it's nice to know you've been appreciated.
The Trail Riders was opened in 1951 so the rooms are small compared to todays motels. We work hard at keeping it clean and comfortable, and by adding shelves, hooks, tables, microwaves, and refrigerators we hope to give our guest the cozy feel. Again I would like to thank you for taking the time to write such a nice review. Please do come back in the winter or any time you're in town!

We are bicycling cross country through small town USA. We have stayed in a wide range of hotels/motels. This motel is exceptionally clean outside and inside. The rooms are small but there is plenty of space for two people to spread out their stuff. There are many shelfs and a few hooks along with a small storage closet. The positives: clean inside and outside, HDTV widescreen TV with HD signal and many channels, comfortable bed, good water pressure in the bathroom sink and shower, shaded wooden porch with two chairs for each room, good WIFI, close to town and within walking distance to a good variety of restaurants, reasonable value for the price for the room($89), includes breakfast. The negatives: some of the employees smoke near the rooms even though the motel is totally non smoking. One caveat: if you are plus sized you won't be comfortable in the room or the shower. Fixtures are dated but everything works well. Did I mention this motel is clean. Don't hesitate. You'll enjoy this motel tremendously!!'

I would like to thank you very much for all the kind things you said about The Trail Riders! As you said our rooms are a bit small but we try to include everything we can to make them work for our guests. The shelves and hooks seem to help a lot. I am sorry about the cigarette smoke we try hard not to have it around our guests as it is a non smoking motel. We have been non smoking for ten years.
Please come back and see us again when you ride through the area. Again thank you so much for your great review!

This was our first visit to the Rocky Mountains. After driving trough all extremely busy places like Winter Park we came in Granby. The motel is on the main road and the first thing you notice is how well it is maintained outside. On every porge there are hanging flowers with flags for the celebration of the 4th of July. The rooms are not modern but charming and clean. Checking in was good. The room had a microwave and fridge and a flat TV screen and a porge with some privacy to sit. The bed was very comfortable. The lady at the reception (owner?) was incredibly helpful. We appreciate that! Wifi worked well. it's so nice to be in a small motel an find up with this quality! If you are on a road trip, just like us, stop here. Granby has some fine restaurants too!

This is the third year on a row we have stopped in for a night. This is a clean, comfortable little motel in cowboy country. The staff is friendly and the air is fresh. It is an easy drive to Rocky Mountain National Patk and there are a couple of imteresting eateries in town. Try Java Lava for breakfast and great coffee

We were returning home from Wyoming and wanted to swing by Rocky Mountain National Park. We thought Granby would be a good place to stop. We stayed at the Trail Riders Motel and really enjoyed it.

The staff was very nice and friendly. The room we had was reasonably priced for being as close to the park as we were. The room was neat and very clean. There is not an air conditioner, but at 8,000 feet and 40 degrees at night, the window fan was more than adequate.

We stopped by on a whim, next time Granby and Trail Riders maybe a destination

Room Tip: The room we had was very small. Call early and you can get a larger room with a sitting area.

We're on a two week Colorado fly fishing vacation. Started in Denver and will end in Denver. My husband loves planning trips and always seems to find fun and unique hotels. He liked the Trail Riders Motel sign online and the rest is history. Everything is amazing..from the beautiful petunia boxes on the porch, the quaint knotty pine, the comfy bed, ALL of the lights, great bathroom and proximity to wonderful restaurants! We loved the desk with the horse shoe handles and wood burned brand in the top. The only thing missing is the horse themed bedspreads like we had at the El Western Motel in Ennis, MT. Thank you for the great stay, the great rate, nice tv, free wifi and we're looking forward to a simple breakfast. Who needs more?

We're so happy you had a great stay! It's so nice when people appreciate the little things in a motel room. We actually have one of the original bedspreads from when TheTrail Riders first opened and it does have a horse saddle on it. The original lights fixtures were made out of horse shoes. We tried to save some of the items in the rooms but......time does take its toll.
We want to thank you for such a nice review and hope if you are back in the Granby area the Trail Riders sign will draw you in again!
