You need to give this place a try! We have been going here for the past 10 years with family or friends and always have a great time. There is "ALOT" to do for all walks of life on the grounds
if you do not feel like going town.
YMCA of the Rockies at Snow Mountain Ranch take care of their guests, no matter what age. Very clean...and do a GREAT job taking care of the land and wild life and guests.

Room Tip: All rooms, cabins and vacations homes have been good to us. Do not know much about rooms or utes.

Just returned from a 3-night, 4-day trip to Snow Mountain Ranch. Our group had three families with children ages 2-9, and we shared two yurts. We had a great weekend and all families agreed we should make it an annual tradition. We brought our mountain bikes along and those old enough to do so biked everywhere on the property. There are dirt trails along almost every road, and traffic is light, so the kids had no problem biking around. Activities we did included: arts and crafts, archery, ziplining (ages 9 and up), horseback riding, swimming, and hiking. Plan to spend several hours in the arts and crafts building - it's amazing and there is so much to do. (We spend 2-3 hours, two days in a row.) Make reservations ahead of time for any "must do" activities by calling the program office. We made reservations for horseback riding a week prior to our visit. Can't wait to visit again next year!

Room Tip: Yurts are very clean, have linens, electricity, microwave and a clean bathhouse nearby. Very fun ex...

We were able to change our reservation to the Indian Peaks Lodge allowing us the added perks of mini fridge, microwave and balcony. The room was quiet and a short walk to the commons area which included daily generous breakfasts. We made sure to sign up for all of the activities we wanted to schedule on the first day,so that we could get all of our activities planned. The Library has plenty of games avaiilable to check out as well as varied reading material. I was quite inmpressed with the Compass project or Program which encouraged youth to unplug from all the videos, phones, and other electonic media and found that our grandson was eager for all the varied activities suitable for his age. We'll be back next year!

Room Tip: The Indian Peaks rooms all have mini fridges, microwaves and every room has a south (I think) facing...

We brought our 9 year old grandson to the "Y" for a week. He's the fifth generation to hike the Rockies at the YMCA camps here. This is our second time to bring him and he's making plans for next year already. Great atmosphere. Great value. Great time for all ages.

First, the not so great: the linens were clean but a little worn looking & the furniture is definitely dated. Bring your own soaps

The great: everything else! The buffet style dining always had something everyone in my family enjoyed. There were lots of activities tubing, arts & crafts(extra charge depending on what you want) cross-country skiing trail, everyone was so nice & welcoming. Things are spread out but they have a shuttle you can call which doesnt take too long. We found we preferred walking in the snow!

We stayed at Snow Mountain Ranch in July. We had a 4 bedroom house that had plenty of space! I wouldn't say it was luxury, but it fit our families needs just fine. It was clean and had a full kitchen so we made most meals there. We hit a Safeway about 10-15 minutes before arriving. The weather was beautiful! We needed sweatshirts in the evening. The camp had lots of fun things to do. Some of our favorites were horseback riding, making walking sticks and making crafts! The kids also liked the rock wall, rollerskating, hiking, putt-putt and swimming. We drove to Winter Park one day and bought a day pass for the Alpine Slide, Bungee Jump, Miniature Golf, etc. We loved spending the day there. The Y-Camp had wonderful scenery. Our view from our deck was beautiful. Everyone who worked at the camp was very friendly and helpful! I recommend it for a family trip in the summer! It was great family time for a good price!

The YMCA Camp of the Rockies Snow Mountain Ranch has family activities and offers a wonderfully warm Christian welcome!
As a married gay male Christian couple with a four year old, it was a great experience.
Breakfast horseback ride was delightful - great scenery along a mountain stream with a fascinating wrangler leading our three person group.
Making walking sticks from a tree branch and then burning designs and our names into them and coating them with polyurethane was fun.
Evening campfire worship service and s'mores was good. It was led by talented college musicians with a great message on patience. Important for fathers of a Type A toy year old.! ;)
The Craft Shop is amazing with all kinds of activities for all ages - leather working, pottery, wooden building and animals - too much to describe here. You and/or your child could stay at the craft shop all day.
The indoor swimming pool is great with a rock wall - you just drop into the pool when you're done.
The RV campsite has a great view of the Rockies in several directions and the guests were amazingly friendly.
There's also archery, canoeing, Putt Putt Golf, and some amazing hiking on the 5,500 acres with mountains, lakes, and streams.
