My wife and I just stayed at this Hampton Inn for 6 nights. Very nice and attentive staff. Our room was clean and comfortable. The furnishings seem pretty new, although the bathtub seems to be a little beaten up already. But everything worked and was clean! The room appeared to be vacuumed every day. Also, the hotel advises that the bed comforter in each room is washed, along with the sheets, of course. I think every hotel should do that so guests are assured the covers are clean. The bed is a little too soft compared to beds in other hotels I have stayed at in my reviews, so this is something to note if you need certain mattress types to sleep comfortably.

The included breakfast is quite good, with a rotating selection of eggs and bacon, or biscuits and gravy or eggs and sausage, plus potatoes. Along with the waffle maker, breads, cereals, yogurt, juices and coffee, I was quite happy. On Saturday, the kitchen ran out of the hot food selections - I think other guests were hogging but the hotel needs to adjust for a full house. The lobby/dining area is very comfortable and large enough that we never had to wait for a place to sit.

Free WiFi throughout the hotel is a welcome amenity. I didn't have time to use the small indoor pool, but it looks nice. There is a compact exercise room adjacent to the pool as well. The small but convenient Business Center room and has 3 computers and a laser printer. Happily, WiFi is free and signal seems good in room and lobby, and is fast enough for typical business use.

Location is very good for easy driving access around the area - to Red Rock Park & Amphitheater, Lariat Loop scenic byway, downtown Golden, the Colorado Mills shopping mall, and the Colorado School of Mines. The hotel is about a mile and a half from the recently opened RTD Light Rail station which runs from Golden into downtown Denver ($4.00/1 way). (Although the light rail is a great way to avoid driving into Denver for a day trip, you definitely need a car or a ride to or from the RTD station. It's not very close to the Hampton Inn or any hotel in Golden for that matter.)

Overall, a very good hotel and we would definitely stay here next trip.

The locations is easy to get too with a great view of the mountains, the staff is friendly and efficient and there were lots of good and complete options for breakfast. The hotel was pretty full, but the rooms were very quiet.

We have stayed at the Denver-West/Golden Hampton Inn for several different reasons and over seveeral different years. Summer, Winter, no matter...the facility is extremely clean, well maintained and very quiet! We were there most recently during their very busy season, it was filled to capacity, and yet, no appreciable noise was apparent. The complimentary breakfast is available in an open area just off the lobby. We got some wonderful help as they were book so solidly the week we had to have that we faced moving out for a day, then moving back. The front desk personnel kept informing me of our 'status' in this predicament, and finally, someone did cancel and they informed us right away. The property is centrally situated making our visit to both Golden and Denver very efficient and enjoyable.

Room Tip: We have stayed in several different locatoins throughout the property and all have been excellent.

no bugs! that's always a hug plus. This hotel is very clean, and has nice young staff. we had about 10 rooms here for a wedding and it went very smooth. nothing great to say, and nothing bad. Did not use the pool or exercise room, but they did look nice. thanks

The staff was very helpful and stow away our luggage even though we arrived at 11.30 am. They were kind and courteous and didn't hesitate to ask how they can be of help. Great place to stay and will definitely recommend it to anyone. As a Hilton Honors member their overall service was excellent. My best memory is the extremely clean rooms, towels and sheets and new appearance of this hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for a mountain view 3rd or 4th floor.

The hotel is very clean and accessible. Breakfast was actually very good, I'm not one to eat hotel breakfasts and this one was very good. Such a good location when going to a show at Red Rocks only 10 minutes down the road, a straight shot indeed.

I was just in Golden last weekend where I was engaged at Redrocks! This is a great place to stay if you are catching a concert! We saw Global Dance Festival an it was amazing.
I love the location of this property, short drives to both Red Rocks and Golden, this hotel kind of sits between the two.
The free breakfast was very good as well. My complaint is how this hotel room was set up. Our room had a jacuzzi tub in the room and as a result the bathroom was extremely tiny. The bathtub floor wasn't flat. Hard to explain but it was so curved that your feet had to be together in order to stand (couldn't stand shoulder width apart as your feel would be at 45 degree angles). Weird I know. Not to mention if you open the door to the room you see directly into the bathroom. Strange setup again.
The hallway outside of the 4th floor lobby blew very hot air out of the vent which did not seem normal. This occurred all three days when we were there.
The bed was comfortable and breakfast was good both days. The front desk staff was very nice. I would recommend this property but if we come back I will try to get a different room type.

The hotel was originally built in 1998 and was renovated recently finished in 2010. Do to the original design the bathroom size has remained the same even after the last renovation. We do hope you choose to stay with us again the next time you happen to be in the Golden area. Global Dance Festival has been held a Red Rocks for many years, were sure it will be back again in 2014.
