“Do not go here for special occasion brunches”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 5, 2012

We were so very excited to dine here for Easter last year, but boy were we left disappointed. The place is grossly over-priced and the food was inedible. We (5 of us) each ordered something different and each of the five dishes was awful. We won't be going back.

“One of our favorites”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 25, 2012

The Briarwood Inn is where we almost always go for a special occassion. The food, service, and atmosphere are all first class. Although a bit pricey, the quality and amount of food more than justifies the price. We usually go home with a doggy bag. It's hard not to fill up on just the appetisers and bread that come with the meal, and the dessert platter (also included with the meal) is a special treat.

“Lovely Sunday brunch in beautiful setting”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 18, 2012

The Briarwood Inn is tucked into a beautiful garden. Inside it is all "old world charm" with open beams, beautiful windows/vistas, warm woods, and highly polished copper hoods over open fireplaces. Elegantly set tables with formal charm. The Sunday Brunch is well worth the drive from nearby Denver. Starts with champagne, mimosas, or Kir Royales to accompany large goblets of fresh fruit. Pastries on teatime etageres center the tables. They range from custard tarts to scones and croissants. Warning --Don't overeat at this stage as the main plate is yet to come. The prime rib is highly recommended. I like a place that doesn't give you a big steak knife -- they know this meat cuts with a fork. Accompanied by a single eggs benedict or eggs briarwood (tomato and avocado slices under a poached egg with hollandaise topped with a gulf shrimp) and perfectly cooked potatoes. Can't go wrong with the prime rib! The dining room is spacious so one doesn't feel cramped. The servers are helpful and friendly without intruding. This place is truly understated and, at least for Sunday brunch, an absolutely delightful way to spend a few hours and have a great meal!

“Good menu, good service, average food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 11, 2012

Nice restaurant just outside Golden City, really nice people, service was great. The menu is very extensive with plenty of choices for meat, fish and pasta. You get the standard appetiser of prawns and dips and then a choice of salad, entree and then a set desert platter. This works pretty well if there is a large group as it cuts down the choice. My only complant was that the main course I had which was a seafood stew was a bit of a let down. The decription sounded great but in reality it was a bit bland and also a bit cold. It's only one data point and I would certainly give it another chance, that's why I have scored it a V Good not average.

“Best brunch ever”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 1, 2012

My family and I just visited the Briarwood Inn in Golden, CO. I had forgotten how wonderful this place is. Every part of our experience was beyond compare. By far, the best place for a family or couple's meal. My favorite is for brunch. Atmosphere, food, service, beauty of surroundings, it just doesn't get any better.
