“Good Food - Terrible Service”
Reviewed October 3, 2012

Four of us had dinner on the patio of this nice restaurant. The patio overlooks Clear Creek, which runs through the middle of Golden, separating North from South. The person greeting us was very pleasant, got us seated, took a drink order, and advised that our waiter would serve the drinks shortly. That concluded the good service portion of the evening.

Our waiter appeared to be, shall we say, distracted, to the point of forgetting virtually 80 percent of what was ordered over the course of drinks, salad and entree. Two of us ordered pre-entree items, one salad and one soup. The waiter remembered the salad, but forgot the soup. Ten minutes after the salad had been served, we finally asked about the soup. "Be right up!" said the waiter who appeared with the soup maybe 5 minutes later.
Sometime after that, the entrees for those of us who had not had salad or soup, arrived. We assumed that the waiter had returned to the kitchen for the other two meals but, alas, that was not the case. When we finally asked about the missing meals, the response was "Be right up!" just like the soup, and the meals arrived about 5 minutes later. I ordered another drink - "Be right up!" said the waiter and, 15 minutes later, he appeared with the wrong drink.

We heard the people at the next table finally ask for their check for perhaps the third time - you guessed it - "Be right up!" he said, but didn't come back for another 10 minutes. Same thing when it was time for our check. It should be noted that during this entire time, the restaurant was not at all crowded - this was not the result of being rushed or overwhelmed. Well, maybe he was overwhelmed by having two tables at the same time.

Lest you think me to be overly critical, let me say that, when finally served, the food was very good and I would return if I were guaranteed that I would have a different waiter. I have to wonder, however, how anyone can hold down that job while being so inept at it, and does that say something about the restaurant in and of itself?

All in all, if you don't mind taking a chance on the service, the food is worth the trip but, if your waiter's name is "Sasha," I suggest that you come back on another night!

“Wonderful food”
Reviewed September 24, 2012

Right in the heart of downtown Golden, CO. A great selection of both Greek and American food, you are sure find one of your favorites on the menu. Also check out the daily specails. You can dine inside, barside or even on the outside patio. Great place to eat.

“Great duck and wine selection”

The service and food was fabulous for a group of 18. Appetizers are small so order a few more for a large group.

“Excellent dinner and Great Atmosphere on the deck!”
Reviewed August 20, 2012

This is an excellent Italian/Mediterranean restaurant. We had a table outside over looking the creek that flows through Golden. The food was excellent and our wait staff were very knowledge and provided awesome suggestions from the menu. Prices averaged from the mid-teens to upper $20's.

“Overpriced poor quality food!!”
Reviewed August 19, 2012 via mobile

Had lunch while arts fest was in town. Ordered an antipasta plate for 15, described as an assorted artisan cheeses and meats with marinated vegetables. For 15$ we got pre- sliced bologna a few pieces of capicola, Swiss cheese and provolone, the olives were a heap of what's used to garnish the other salads (tiny and in pieces), this looked like lunch meat from the wall mart deli. Greek salad, dressing was good, garnishment was a very small amount of cheese, canned red peppers and the same small black olive pieces on the antipasta plate for 9$.
Server was Russian - atmosphere for lunch - inside - dirty interior (dust on everything hanging on the walls to the emergency exit lights) with crips white table clothes. Big mistake even giving this place a chance, even bigger waste of money!!! If looking for fine dining, the Fort in Morrison you will get your money's worth and have decent food. This place was a huge disappointment!
