We were very pleasantly surprised at the extraordinary life of Buffalo Bill. The museum was closed on a Monday but we were allowed in as we were on a Greyhound tour. We had the museum all to ourselves and I found it fascinating to learn more about this man. The grave was sobering and it was lovely to see his wife's grave beside his. The view from the mountain side was also spectacular. The gift shop was full of good wares (some souvenirs 'made in China' which infuriates me!) but I found authentic Indian made dolls for my granddaughter and I've been looking everywhere!!! So, well worth a visit in our opinion.

I've always considered this to be somewhat of a 'tourist trap' but lately the museum has become more of a serious western history establishment. Of course old Bill and his wife are buried outside. Everyone coming to Denver area who has the time should check this out.

So pleased we went to see this. note the museum is open Tuesday to Sunday. We were there on the Monday. However there are some wonderful views, you can walk to the grave and the shop is brill! The drive up shows some spectacular views over Denver.

Hike around the park and read about the history. There is so many things to learn about Buffalo Bill and the life around that time. Take your family and friends for a fun summer outting.

Buffalo Bill's grave site is really ruined by the overcommerciwlization of the site. Even sadder, the view of Denver and the plains that Bill so fondly appreciated has been ruined by a number of transmitting towers. However, the museum is excellent, even if the state charges an entrance fee.
