I have never experienced such great accommodations. The staff was great overall a person that stood out was a young man by the name of Esgar at the Grill. The young man greeted us at the door with a smile, and very efficient worker even when busy was able to accommodate everyone in an orderly fashion. He told us all about breakfast which was all included with the room. He was able to tell me a bit of history about the place. Which was great on his part. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK ESGAR, but also great overall staff keep it up...

Room Tip: make sure you get a room that faces west the view in incredible

Rooms are nicely equipped with fridge, safe, new TV and comfy beds. We only wished we could have stayed longer. The breakfast included with the stay was better than the breakfast we paid $15 per person the day before. You had made to order omelette, hash browns, toast, pancakes, french toast and waffles. This was on top of the already standard continental breakfast items. The included Hot Springs day passes just make the whole stay an amazing value.

The only negative would be the front entrance that is currently under construction. It looks like they will have this taken care of in less than a month.

One last thing to add is that the front desk and service all around was GREAT!

The website makes this hotel to have a wow factor, but this hotel had neither wow factor or any service. It is simply an overpriced motel which includes entrance to the hot springs.

The worst thing is you have to traipse across to the hot springs cafe/grill to have your breakfast on plastic plates and with plastic cutlery served up by miserable canteen staff whilst sitting in McDonalds style seating.

Considering you pay top pice to stay here, you get no care from the staff, Shawn on the front desk booked us into a room below ground level stating our preferred room wasn't ready. We changed this within 10 mins of seeing the room; another receptionist gave us a room two floors higher.

No welcome, no offer of help if we needed advice on where to go etc, they almost made us feel it was a privilege to stay there.

We endured it for two nights and then checked into the Hotel Colorado where we received outstanding value, quality service, proper crockery, cutlery and instantly relaxed.

The hot springs themselves are great (see separate review), despite niggling things such as having to use quarters for lockers (surely a top whack hotel should take care of these things?!) and the very amateur staff who would rather talk about their love life than string a coherent sentence together and look after the guests from the lodge.

The 'face-lift' at the front of the lodge didn't help with the construction noise starting at 8am - instead of building a new entrance, why doesn't the hotel build a kitchen/breakfast area/bar for their guests to have somewhere classy to go at the start or end of their day in the hot springs. It would certainly start to reflect the rates they are shamefully charging.

We stayed here recently, and had a nice little Colorado staycation. The hotel was a 2 minute walk to the hotsprings, and entry to the pool was included. This was nce, as we could come and go as often as we liked. The free breakfast at the grill was a great way to save money as well.

Cons: the room was a little small, but we didn't spend too much time there. A movie rental was $15, steep, but typical for any hotel.

We purchased a package to the Cavern park, and felt a bit ripped off, since the unlimited alpine coaster was closed that day. But, we did enjoy the cave and the other "attractions".

I just read 3 very disheartening reviews. This is a wonderful hotel, with the nicest staff. We stay here frequently and are always called by name during our stay. Yes, you do have to walk across the street, down a bunch of steps and around the pool to get to the breakfast, but what's wrong with a little exercise? And you can always drive down to eat. The price of the rooms seem high, but if you compare comparable hotels, add in the price of the pool and the breakfast, which I might add is the best deluxe hot breakfast at ANY hotel I've ever stayed there is no difference in the price. The most comfortable beds ever..the most soundproof rooms..ever..anyway...they have me for life! I will always stay here.

Room Tip: North facing rooms are a little smaller, less expensive but quieter. The south facing rooms overlook...

Despite having gone to Glenwood Springs many times, I had never stayed at the Lodge. The website boasted about the luxury quality, etc. - after calculating the cost at other hotels and taking into account that the Lodge provides a "full hot breakfast" and unlimited pool passes, we decided to give it a try.

The rooms: nice amenities inside - everything is high quality, but the room was TINY. All that was available when we booked was a 2 queen bed room - the beds barely fit in the room. The pictures on the website make it look spacious, but it is very cramped.

The "full hot breakfast": This is at the grill, which requires that you walk down the hill, around the pools and into the main building for the hot springs. Once you get there, you are greeted with an average hotel-style continental breakfast and an omelet/pancake station. So... yes, there is hot food in the form of omelet/pancakes, but the phrase "full hot breakfast," at least to me, implies that you can sit down, order off a menu and be served - this is just a place where you order and your food is set at the counter for you to pick up. This would have been fine if it were what I was expecting, but given the price paid and the language used on the website, I was expecting much more.

We asked for two wake-up calls by calling the front desk from the room - the phone never rang the next day. When we complained at the front desk, the staff member said, "OK. What do you want?" She failed to apologize and just said that the automated system must have messed up.

This is NOT room service at this hotel - they compensate for this with their free "full hot breakfast"s

Overall - not a great experience. It would have been OK if it had cost less, and our expectations about the quality of service and luxury of accommodations had been properly set.

Room Tip: The rooms on the south side overlook the parking lot and have a good deal of noise.

The biggest problem with this hotel is that it doesn't match the expectations that it sets up. For the price, it should offer top-notch service. It was fine - but not spectacular, and certainly not "spa grade" as the website suggests.

Pros: The pools are great. The room decor was very pleasant and nicely updated. The staff at breakfast was quick and helpful. The sound proofing was excellent - the room was very quiet. The beds and linens were comfy. Wi-fi was great. The grill at the pool had healthy lunch options as well as kid favorites.

Cons: Ground floor, street-facing room; no mention two days before arrival that the high floor I requested wasn't available (instead, the reservationist acknowledged they had my request and would "do their best" to honor it). The 4pm check-in is a pain for those arriving on the train at noon, and the desk staff is curt--referring to small print on their confirmation notice--if you request earlier check in. Breakfast food is plentiful but low quality, with extra oil on every grill item to make up for blandness. Shampoo etc. are only given on the first day. When I asked for more at the desk they were quick to give them to me, but at $200+ a night, should I have to request shampoo?? Hotel entrance under construction - also not mentioned on the website or phone beforehand. No food at all in the actual hotel - only at the pool, which really is across the street and down a hill, and the snack bar/grill closes completely at 3pm.

The reason to consider staying here is the location, which is the closest to the pool. But others aren't far. Lots of places in town are cheaper and others are nicer for the money.

Room Tip: Just take the cheapest room. They will not guarantee a particular location, only a room type, so yo...
