“Very nice hotel ... overpriced”
Reviewed April 2, 2013

We've stayed at Hot Springs Lodge appx 10 times over the years. Great location! They offer nice accommodations ... however, the hotel is too pricey. But they fill up all the time so you can't blame them, right? The room includes pool admission which is nice, and breakfast. When our kids were young, we enjoyed the security of walking across the street to get there and easy to get back to the room, as well. The staff has treated us very well with each visit! We have had some amazing memories at Hot Springs Lodge like New Years Eve in the hot mineral pool with snow falling all around us. Can't beat that! Our family hasn't found a place we like better in Glenwood. So we save $$ a little longer and enjoy the stay at Hot Springs Lodge without guilt.

Even though the rooms seem pricey, it's a great value because your room includes admission into the pool, towels, and a custom breakfast which includes making omelets to order. Staff was wonderful, rooms are first class-can't wait to visit again!

Best location to stay in town!!! The remodel of the rooms is nice and modern. A very pedestrian friendly location and close to the Hot Springs pool, to most restaurants, and to downtown. It was quite and clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: Spend the xtra $10/night for a balcony, the rooms are very small.

The hot springs are wonderful! While the Lodge is nice, and I have no specific complaints, unless you plan to do almost nothing but swim, I think it's a bit overpriced. The "complimentary" breakfast is average. The unlimited swimming is nice and were were pleased to get passes the night we checked in, the following day and the final day when we checked out. We took advantage and swam each day. However, if you plan to do the hot springs only 1 day and explore some of the other activities in the area, I would definitely look at other hotel options too and do some price comparison. Staying on site may not be the best value. We will definitely go back to swim, but probably not stay at the Lodge again.

Room Tip: Our family of 5 was very crowded in a double queen room so my advice for a larger family would defin...

Glenwood Hot Springs Inn has 107 rooms, is a multilevel elevator building located in an area of other hotels, shops and restaurants and next door to a historic hotel. The lobby features several seating areas. We arrived at the hotel around 10pm hungry and tired and found that the local restaurants were all closed. The front desk receptionist was more than helpful and called Dominos to order a pizza for us since everything else was closed.

We did not see or use the business center or laundry room; however, we understand that they are available.

Guests are issued tickets for a free breakfast served across the street at The Grill. There is the usual “excuse me” as we bumped into others roaming around trying to put together the continental breakfast and / or while waiting for cooked eggs, toast, pancakes and home fries (no bacon). The breakfast filled our bellies but was nothing to brag about.

For us, the draw for this property is the hot springs pools located directly across the street from Glenwood Hot Springs Inn. Guests of Glenwood Hot Springs Inn are issued tickets for free use of the hot springs and towels for the day. One very large pool is about 90 degrees and another adjacent very large pool is about 104 degrees. We weren’t sure if people believe they were therapeutic, but it gave us insight into the day when people would come to the springs in hopes of finding a cure for whatever ailed them. We thought it would be like the swimming pool in the movie “Cocoon”…where a group of older people went into the water and came out young! It didn’t work for us either… LOL!! But, it was a nice experience none-the-less.

In the 104 degree pool there are about six chairs that turn the hot springs pool into a whirlpool in the area you are sitting in. These whirlpool chairs cost 25 cents for five minutes. There are a couple of smaller pools and slides that weren’t open (I think there may have been an extra charge for the slides). The hot springs pools have changing facilities and showers available. The hot springs pools are located adjacent to The Grill where breakfast and lunch is available.

The King Deluxe carpeted room is approximately 300 square feet and includes the following:

• card key for room access
• king size bed
• triple sheets
• free standing unit provided space for the 42 inch flat screen TV, microwave, mini refrigerator, three draws and an island like table with three chairs.
• pull out sofa
• coffee table
• bench at the end of the king sized bed
• two night tables with lamps
• iPhone/Pod docking radio/alarm
• reading light built into the headboard that provided enough light to read without disturbing my husband.
• small pillows
• balcony is small and only accommodates a chair, tiny table and clothes drying rack
• tiled bathroom with a shower / very small tub combination and was adequately sized for one person.
• hair dryer
• iron / ironing board
• in room safe
• pet rooms for a fee
• smoke free rooms
• free parking (not at your door)
• free WiFi

It would have been nice to spend two nights at this location to explore the area more (especially Hanging Lake) and to enjoy the hot springs more than once. We appreciated the clothes drying rack on the patio to hang our bathing suites and always wonder why hotels with pools / hot tubs don’t offer a rack or clothes line rather than have guest’s bathing suites drip all over the floor. We also appreciated the two night tables, iPhone / Pod docking radio, refirg / micro and triple sheets – very luxurious and something we look for. Despite the moderately acceptable breakfast, we would definitely stay at the Glenwood Springs Inn again.

Just returned from my second trip to the Glenwood Hot Springs Lodge! The room we had last week was fantastic....much improved since my trip 2 years ago....and that was not a bad room either!
Front desk clerk was great! The room was quiet and private. The location of this property is perfect for using the pool!
Paying the extra $10 to use the athletic club locker room is worth it just for the hair dryers and the lotion.
The Athletic club is ok....nothing special but one can get a weight workout done....I never understand indoor treadmills when one can run outside in Glenwood. Oh well...they have that type of equipment too!
Both locker rooms are large...and adequate...nothing special.
Breakfast was great....a very nice man was there to explain all the options!

We made our reservation a couple weeks before our March 16th stay. On the 12th we received a call from Dawn asking if we were still planning on staying with them on the 16th. I told her yes, and she told me about the Balcony rooms with a view of the pool. I told her I was excited about this and my family was going to be thrilled. We arrived on the 16th and were told that our room was not ready, check in time was at 4. I asked about the balcony room and we were told that they do not guarantee them. They offered to give us our pool passes but we decided to just walk around Glenwood until our room was ready. When we came back at 4, after thinking about it, I asked if I could talk to the supervisor. They told us that her name was "Dawn" but she was not available. I asked if I could give them my number and if she could give us a call. We left the lodge again and waited for the call. After waiting 40 minutes and the kids getting anxious to check into our room, we went back to the front desk. I told them that the supervisor had never called, was she given my number, and they said yes. They once again said that they do not guarantee balcony rooms and we were given a garden level room with a view of the retaining wall. We will probably never stay at the Lodge again. For the supervisor to not even give us the respect of a phone call does not speak well for the level of customer service.

Room Tip: If you want a view of the pool and not just a retaining wall on the lowest level, it doesn't app...
