If you like spending a lot of money for a big elaborate hotel, then don't stay here! But do stay here if you would like a quality room at a very affordable price. From the time you walk up to the desk and the lovely owner greets you with a friendly smile, to the time you check out, you will find this motel to be a gem in the Rockies! The rooms are very clean with comfortable beds, refrigerators, and microwaves. The hot water is actually hot, real hot, and the water pressure will give you a most relaxing shower. There is an outdoor pool and whirlpool that are checked and cleaned daily. There is ample parking, because you may want to leave your car there and walk to the many restaurants, grocery stores, banks, drug stores, parks and churches that are nearby. It is ideally located on the south side of Downtown Glenwood Springs. After you enjoy the free breakfast while watching the news and reading the local morning paper, you will be off to enjoy one of the greatest tourist spots in America. I know. I have been coming here for years!

Everything was perfect; the desk staff always friendly, the room is up to date, even though I know this motel has existed for over 40 years. The pool was sparkling, with a hot tub ready. It is in the middle of town so everything is close. We move here from a less perfect place, so were so happy to find it. I will return to it every time I visit Glenwood Springs. The breakfast they provide is complete, not continental. This one has eggs, sausage, pancakes, cereal, breads. I would have liked brewed decaf coffee; my only complaint. But overall, a wonderful find!

Room Tip: We stayed on the east side, where it is cool in the afternoon and away from the street.

I have nothing to say but great place to stay, if you are looking for something affordable this is it !!! The location, the staff were so helpful, friendly and fun!
when i check in into my room, the view of the mountain surrounded was fantastic, very clean and comfortable bed...The best of all, FREE FREE FREE continental breakfast unbelievable but true, they had sausages, eggs, bagel ,cereals and fresh fruits. Although this is not one of the newest motels, it is a refreshing example of what originally brought me to be repeat customers. Thank you!

Room Tip: 2nd floor for a great view.

My wife, 2 year old daugher and I just had our first road trip. We stayed at the Caravan Inn during the Memorial day weekend. We had a great experience. The staff and owners of the hotel were very accomodating. The owners of the hotel REALLY care about their guests unlike some of the bigger hotel chains I stayed at. My wife and I are planning on going back next year.

Thanks for the great hospitality Caravan Inn!

As a dog owner, there's a relatively limited number of hotels that will take your pet in- especially once that pet is over 35 lbs (granted, our dog exceeds the weight limit the Caravan posts on their web site but they let us stay anyway- perhaps because this is off season for them). The Caravan let our dog stay with us for an extra $10/night, which was great. This is an older hotel with outdoor access for all rooms, classic ugly inexpensive carpet and drapes, and color tube TV sets; on the plus side there are small in-room fridges and microwaves. In an incongruous remodel, the shower surround and bathroom sink are from granite sheets. The best feature of our room was the hot water in the shower with good water pressure and good flow pattern-- I travel frequently for business and nothing makes me more miserable than tepid showers, so I really appreciate the shower facilities here. For the dog traveler, it's a several block walk to the riverwalk dog park, but there is a beautiful and large city park half a block away which makes a great place to go dog walk when your friend needs to get out. Be aware that access to all of the rooms faces the inner courtyard, which can be a problem if your furry roommate finds the "unnatural" noises of other travelers outside your hotel room to be cause for alarm- it may make for uneasy sleep as the wary dog warns you that they're "coming right for us!"

This hotel is located on the South side of I-25 and the old main street area of Glenwood Springs, right on the somewhat noisy major N-S thoroughfare through town- convenient to Aspen, not so convenient to the hot springs.

They offer a breakfast in the morning (7-10 am) included with the room price- it's fairly standard continental fare: fruit loops, corn flakes, tiny muffins, tiny bagels with jam and cream cheese, OJ, coffee, tea, instant oats, sausage patties, eggs.

For the price and the dog-friendliness, this place is a good value, although it's no Marriott.
