We did this hike after the Hanging Lake Trail, so we were already pretty tired but still wanted to see this place before we had to leave. If you drive up and park at the top of Palmer Ave. by 12th St. and walk up the road past the gate there, it's still a steep hike but probably only half the distance of the trail--about 1/4 mile. Saves some time and energy, especially if you have other hikes and activities planned the same day!

Good hike/walk for the family, well maintained cemetary. Good historical lesson for all. Highly recommend. Great views on the trail!

Only had a little time in Glenwood Springs and thought that this would be a short trail to fill in an hour or so. It did, but on a very hot day, the hike was steeper than we expected! Still worth doing though.

We had difficulty finding the trailhead and only came upon it by accident. The directions in the AAA travel book weren't real accurate. The trail is short, but steep. I recommend good or sturdy athletic or hiking shoes. I used a hiking pole as well and glad I did on the down hill return, (loose rock). The reward for the effort is a charming old cemetary. Doc Holiday's grave (or is it???) was fenced in as were many of the graves. Thee were playing cards scattered on the grave left in tribute to him. Overall, I enjoyed walking around the cemetary reading the other grave stones. We were there early in the morning, so there was no one else there. It was beautiful and peaceful. The hike back down to Glenwood Springs was slick so be careful. The views of the town and surrounding valley was beautiful.

Interesting trail to the cemetery - strange to be hiking in a residential area. Have your hiking boots in the car - this is not a trail for flip flops
