“It's a hike!”
Reviewed October 24, 2011

My husband was determined to see Doc Holliday's grave....so up we went. If you are not used to hiking it may be a problem. I am not a hiker and this climb really winded me. Its pretty much straight up, dirt trail with lots of loose gravel. About 1/2 mile. The walk down was a lot easier! The graveyard is not kept up and is very over grown and once your find the memorial you are told that the records were lost and this is not Doc Holliday's grave, only that he is buried "somewhere in the cemetery". If you can see the the flag, that is your marker to locate the memorial. A bit disappointing.

“If you love the Old West--This is a must see!”
Reviewed August 27, 2011

Seeing Doc Holliday's grave was a big reason why I went to Glenwood Springs in the first place. When I drove through Glenwood Springs a few years ago, I noticed the sign that said Doc's grave but unfortunately I was not able to stop and check it out do to time restraints. Well, this time I made every effort to go! While driving down the main drag in Glenwood Springs you will notice a sign that says "Doc Holliday's Grave" You then follow it into a neighborhood and you notice a little bench area with a sign saying "Linwood Cemetery" from here is a fun little dirt trail you walk a little ways "up" to the top of the hill. There is a bench you can rest on if you need to. At the top is an old cemetery. Follow the signs and you will then be pointed to Doc's grave. It was interesting to see all the little trinkets people have left for him on the headstone. Some reviewers said that the hike was a little hard, but I was able to do it in flip flops, and my 2-year old had no problem climbing it either. If you are into history and the old west this is a must see!

“Nice walk with a great view”
Reviewed August 19, 2011

This was the first trail we took after moving to Glenwood Springs. If you're not used to the elevation you'll be out of breath! Dont underestimate this short little hike. It is steep but man what a beautiful view and a really neat cementary. Doc's grave is adorned with some gifts of visiters and some neat little info on his life and his times in Glenwood. Very good and can be accomplished in 30 minutes or less.

“Be prepared for a rather steep hike.”
Reviewed October 19, 2010

Okay. So they do not know where Doc Holiday was buried. They think he is buried somewhere in this cemetery, and all evidence suggests they are correct. However, they do not pretend to know his exact grave site.

Is it worth it? Do you like to hike? The trail is pretty steep. There is a very nice view once you get to the top. The historical markers explaining and hypothesizing where Doc Holiday is buried are very good and informative.

I say GO! But only if you are in good health and up for a somewhat strenuous climb.
