My husband and I love this little pub. Whether we ride up on the train, or driving or riding, the hotel and restaurant are fun.
The beers are always good. Whatever you are in the mood for or want to pair with food you really can't miss with any of their selections.
I had the roasted chicken enchiladas and a my husband had a burger. Even though the Nut Brown Ale is one of my favorites here, I was in the mood for a Honey Ale so I got that instead. It went really well with the enchiladas. The beer was bright and tasty and the enchiladas were fresh and with just the right amount of spicy.
The husband's burger was a big one, and the sweet potato tots on the side were hard to keep out of of. I just had to steal a couple when he wasn't looking...every so often.
I was disappointed their banana chocolate chip cake was no longer on the menu, but I tried another chocolate cake and it was just about as light and good. I guess I'll have to try to figure out how to make the banana cake at home.
It does get loud and it looks like a place all the locals come to eat. That's usually a good sign. After a long day in the car it would be nice if they had a bar area that was aimed more at adults but space is premium and in this economy who would turn away a group of kiddos? Service always fast and friendly.
All of this is connected to the hotel. The springs is just a walk over a bridge. The downtown area is a fun walk, and not as touristy as the other side or a place like Estes, which is nice.
