“A great value for money place to stay.”
Reviewed May 19, 2011

A really friendly and great value place to stay. Rooms were very clean, Continental breakfast was more than adequate and the management and staff were so friendly and helpful - all you needed to do was ask - and they couldn't do enough to make sure everything was okay for us. This may not be a five star hotel but they give you a five star welcome. You will stay in a lot of places costing a lot more than this hotel and not get as good value for your money.

We arrived late in the evening but we were friendly welcomed.
The hotel needs renovation in and around the hotel.
The room was clean. We slept very well.
The bathroom needs renovation but it was ok for one night.
Breakfast was very basic. We paid a small price for basic accommodation.

We just stayed for 5 nights, and it was a decent stay.
Pros: clean, staff obviously takes pride in the place, I thought the bed was comfortable, pools, etc., fridge and microwave, Wifi, AMAZING views, good location, affordable, pretty grounds.
Cons: "amenities" are EXTREMELY basic, exercise room had only 3 pieces of equipment, breakfast was well stocked but the variety was sugar, sugar, and more sugar. If you like kids cereal and toaster waffles, it's fine, but I would've loved it if there was fruit or something a little more substantial like scrambled eggs. Breakfast room also very crowded, my husband had to stand and eat one morning, and another day we had to take our breakfast to our room. No iron in rooms or laundry room. Some of my family came up later in the week and stayed in a room with a kitchen, which had only one pan that didn't heat in the center and smelled like fish when heated. The kitchen table takes up all free space in the kitchen and we were pretty much tripping over each other trying to cook meals. Pool was FREEZING, but hot tub was nice (until about ten more people came in and had to sit in the hot tub because the pool was too cold). Walls are paper thin, one night we were kept up late by shower in next room, each day we were woken up by people walking by outside. My husband thought the bed was very uncomfortable. Hot water in showers was too hot (could easily burn a child).
Overall: nice people, obvious care put into the place, pretty grounds and view, but basic. Good value but don't expect anything fancy. Had stayed before (in the cabin, which was also nice but basic), would stay again.

Thank you for commenting on your recent stay at our motel. We value your opinion and appreciate your feedback. As stated on our website we only serve a continental breakfast which consists of three cold cereals (raisin bran, fruit loops and frosted flakes), oatmeal, milk, yogurt, apple and orange juice, hot chocolate, tea, pastries, french toast, plain and blueberry waffles and bagels. All rooms are equipped with refrigerators and microwaves and hairdryers. Coffee machines and iron/ironing boards are available upon request. Each kitchen unit is equipped with pots and pans, dishes, etc. for six people. If a larger group is using one kitchen we do have extra dishes, pots and pans, etc. available upon request. Our indoor pool is heated to 84 degrees, and our hot tub is heated to 103 degrees. Our exericise room has three pieces of equipment which includes a treadmill, bike and stepper. We are sorry that your stay was not to your total sastifaction. Thank you. Cedar Lodge Motel management.

I have stayed at many different hotels in glenwood springs over many years, and I just spent the last few nights there under their ski and stay package with my wife and 6 and 8 year old kids. The people who run and manage this hotel have a obvious pride in their hotel that is ubiquitous throughout the property. You couldn't ask for cleaner rooms, better beds, continental breakfast, along with great hospitality and knowledge of the area their staff happily provides. We had a wonderful and stress free time in glenwood this time much due to the very clean indoor pool and hotub and thankfully this hotel is close to many grocery stores and restaurants and pretty much a straight shot and very close sunlight ski resort. And wait until you see what a great deal it is also.

I stayed here over the long Labor Day weekend. The room was average and dated but spotless.
They have an indoor and outdoor pool and a hot tub, all very clean. The grounds were very pretty, with lots of flowers and plants. I think I saw a grill & picnic tables too.
The location is perfect. There's a grocery store and 4 or 5 fast food places, within a 2 minute walk. There's a 50's themed diner with a full bar within a minutes walk. There's also a liquor store right there too.
The staff were all extremely friendly & helpful.
I would definitely stay here again.

My family and I came into town for a family function. We spent three nights at the Cedar Lodge Motel. The rooms were very clean and the beds were comfortable. Breakfast was good. The indoor pool, hotub, and sauna was relaxing. This was a good value and we will consider staying here next time we are in town.
