“Salad was made with old ingredients”
Reviewed July 9, 2013 via mobile

We stopped here on our way through Glenwood Springs based on the TripAdvisor ratings and we were REALLY disappointed. When we walked in they told us that they had salads so we decided to stay. I ordered the spinach salad which came with avocadoes, tomatoes, mushrooms, red onions and olives. The spinach was wet, wilted and old, the mushrooms had clearly been sliced hours ago, and the avocado was bruised and discolored. The onions and tomatoes looked ok. I left most of the salad. My husband ordered the nachos and he said they were good although the beans were obviously from a can. Would not recommend this restaurant.

“Nice find a bit out of the way”
Reviewed June 30, 2013

We really liked this diner. We all had good home-cooked meals at a reasonable price. The recommended special was very good. I think this was only one of two meals during our entire trip (5 days) where everyone was satisfied. Nothing fancy, but good food. I would give it a try.

“Hometown place”
Reviewed June 29, 2013 via mobile

Love the atmosphere of a hometown restaurant. Great food at a great price. Service is very personable. You are made to feel at home. Skip the chain restaurants! This will be one your favorite restaurant.

“Pleasant, good food and value.”
Reviewed June 28, 2013

We split a chicken fried steak and fajitas on one evening.

The chicken fried steak itself seemed sourced from the same supplier as most (e.g. Cisco?), but the rest appeared to be made in-house (or sourced from a better quality source than Cisco). For example, the fajitas were not over-salted, and the ingredients were fresh and cooked to the right level.

Breakfast seems to have good choices and prices also, but we didn't get back for breakfast.

More such places are needed in the mountain (and nearby) communities.

“Hot local spot”
Reviewed June 10, 2013

Right on Grand Street, place has a lot of local charm.
Menu is fairly diverse, good draft beer selection.
I was served promptly, with a smile. Parking can be a little tight.
