“Great place to stay”
Reviewed August 5, 2010

We searched on this site and others for a hotel in this great town. The Residence is convenient and has everything a traveler would want. The free breakfast is tasty and plentiful served by smiling Cynthia. The rooms are beautiful and comfortable. Marriott did a great job with this new RI. There is an indoor pool and nice lobby, too.

As we drove from San Diego to Illinois we stayed at the Residence Inn at Glenwood Springs Co. We stayed in a 2 bdrm suite. Our stay was fabulous!!! The room was spotless and the staff was very polite, professional and kind. We loved it so much that we decided to stay there again a week and a half later along our way back to San Diego. EVERYTHING was absolutely wonderful about this hotel and its location. Yes the price was a little higher than most other hotels but as far as I'm concerned it was worth every penny. I will be back to this particular hotel again. Thank you Residence Inn for the wonderful stay at your Co. hotel. And again my compliments to your staff. Art

We chose this hotel because we wanted a separate sleeping area for our 13 year old daughter. We had a King suite. There's a full size refrigerator with ice maker (no buckets of ice to haul from down the hall!), the seating and the beds were very comfy and there was a TV in each room, so no arguing over what to watch. The complimentary breakfast was great, with hot and cold options. If you are there Monday through Thursday evenings, they have a happy hour with free wine, beer and soda and some food offerings that could take the place of a meal. Even with the happy hour ambience, it was still kid-friendly. There's an indoor pool and hottub which is a nice relief from the summer sun. It's not downtown, but it's not far away--there's plenty of free parking downtown. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating, which is a definite plus! They don't have a restaurant on-site, but it's within walking distance of a pizza place, a Quizno's, a Chinese bistro and a very good Mexican place, Moe's. My only very small complaint would be that the air conditioning vent in the main bedroom blew directly onto the bed, which we found uncomfortable. However, Glenwood cools down nicely at night, so we just turned it off.

This new hotel is an awesome (if slightly pricey) choice for a stay in Glenwood Springs. A bit dificult to find, but very near a new shopping/restaurant area. You don't get the same downtown Glenwood charm, but that may work for some. We got a better price through Priceline, booked last minute. Staff was great, impressive lobby, nice amenities in room.

We were fortunate to have found and stayed at this newly opened Marriott property. (opened in March) We were always treated as special guests whether it was seeking an answer to questions or a simple request. The breakfast was very good along with the serving staff. The manager's evening reception Tuesday through Thursday was a meal that could have easily sufficed for dinner two out of the the three nites we were there. The courtyard area around the fire pit was a very nice and comfortable place to read and/or relax. The accomodations were beautifully appointed as well as the common areas. We were impressed with the professional yet friendliness of the entire staff throughout our 4 day stay. We hope to return to the area and this Inn another year.

Not worth the price we paid. Location is somewhat out of sight. I know this is a new hotel, but I'm sure you could find better quality at a lower price.

We made an impromptu trip to Glenwood Springs this past weekend. It was short notice but fortunately the Mariott Residence Inn was able to accommodate our family of 4. The hotel is gorgeous on the outside -- works well with the scenic landscape. The inside is just as nice -- a beautiful lobby area, outdoor sitting area with fireplace and gorgeous views from every window. Our room was nicely decorated and the bed was very comfortable. We loved that the flat panel tv swiveled so you can watch it on the bed or the pull out bed/couch. The brought us a pack and play for our 2 year old at no charge. We are Marriott silver elite members so I'm not sure if this is usually complimentary? The pool and hot tub area is very nice. However, the pool was very cold. Took a while for our 2 year old and 5 year old to get used to it. Fortunately the hot tub was good and hot so we could warm up a bit before swimming. We thought the choice of tile was dangerous for a pool area. My son and I slipped a bit on it -- then we knew to walk very carefully. Seems like a tumbled tile may work better in a wet area. Perhaps they could lay down a few indoor/outdoor rugs in the areas most walked on. The pool was open until 11pm and that was great! Most places we've been to close at 9 or 10 and that is just too early. The complimentary breakfast was delicious. My only complaint would be that they kept running out of coffee. I heard someone say that everyone came at once, so maybe that was just a fluke thing. The breakfast/lobby area has booths with tv's.. this was very nice for our family to sit in. Overall our experience was great. The hotel is only a mile or so from the hot springs. You could definitely walk on a nice day (and maybe without a 2 and 5 year old :)).
