This is a beautiful hike of about a mile. It's straight up and rocky so please bring water and don't try to do it in flip flops or sandals...you risk twisting an ankle. At the top is a pristine lake and a small waterfall. A short hike right off of I-70 but if you're out of shape you'll know it!

The effort is well worth the rewards. Be ready for a short hike in the mountains and it is uphill all the way. This is a very popular spot for locals and tourist so it is best to go there very early in the morning or on a week day. The lake is small, unique, and crystal clear. The micro-environment of the valley it sits in is amazing and lush by Colorado standards. Be assured, “Your experience will be a great one”.

Hanging Lake is about a 1/4 mile walk from the Glenwood Canyon floor. It's a good trail but very steep. The lake is pristine and looks the almost the same as in pictures from the 1920s. The water is so clear you can the see fish although there is no fishing and no camping. This is a very popular trail with tourists especially in the summer.

the water-flowing along the trail lots of tall gorgeous green trees and wild flowers, we went in the morning it was nice and cool. Parts of it are rocky and its a steep trail you need a good pair hiking shoes, there was a little flooding on the trail but still safe enough to climb. well worth the 1.5 mile hike, it was breath takingly beautiful!
