If you love local history and color this is a great, easily accessible walking tour, which includes Doc Holliday's site. There's a "ghost tour" during October with period-costumed local characters of yore. Close to town and history museum.

My husband and I took the 1 mile round trip trail to the Linwood Cemetery, Glenwood Springs, CO. Doc Holliday and Kid Curry are two of the most famous persons buried there. The cemetery is on top of a hill and the trail is a little steeper than moderate. The great views of Glenwood Springs near the top of the hill are well worth the trip. There are signs in the cemetery to help you find Holliday’s and Curry’s markers. Holliday’s marker may not be located exactly where he is buried but it is close.

Well worth the effort of the hike to this cemetery. Following a map we thought the burial site of Doc Holliday was on street corner (silly us). It was quite a hike but only half a mile or so and there are benches on the way and it is a beautiful spot once one gets there. Wear decent shoes and don't carry too much bar water and camera.

The actual burial site of Doc Holliday is unknown but there is a memorial to him.

It makes you appreciate the pioneer life.

Parking available on the road nearby.

As the saying goes there are several ways to get something done! Well I choose the wrong way to hike up to the cemetery. Be sure to ask the locals for an 'easy' walking route to doc Holiday's grave. The views alone the 'hard' way up are worth the views.

Say Hello to Doc...And spent a few moments reflecting upon our fragile lives.......
Enjoy our family and friends every day!

The hike is a steep half mile, but they have benches to rest on with great views of Glenwood Springs. there isn't any shade on this hike so bring water. when you get to the cemetery, which is on your left, continue up the steps and you will find signs to Doc Holiday and Kid Curry's grave. even though Doc is not buried where they say he is, he is buried up there somewhere. I heard stories that he is buried under a cement slab that is not marked. The cemetery is great to wander through and look at all the old dates and it has great views. to get there go up to 13th street and go left and follow the signs.
