Owner description: Sunlight features 67 named trails covering over 470 acres. In addition to miles of cruising intermediate terrain, Sunlight's East Ridge has one of the steeper runs in the state. Aptly named, The Heathen falls beneath your feet at a breathtaking 52 degrees. Sunlight is home to one of the longest trails in ski country, Ute, a beginner slope that winds more than 2 miles from summit to base. Sunlight also hosts some of the best tree skiing in Colorado with many aspen groves untracked days after snowfall. All trails converge at the base lodge, so friends and family can always keep track of each other

“What a great place.......”
Reviewed December 23, 2012

Well since moving to Silt, Co in May 2012 I have heard so many great things about Sunlight and on 12/22/12 I found out for myself. This place is great lots of terrain for all levels of skiers and snowboarders, prices are amazing compared to a lot of places I have skied! The place has an awesome small town feeling with friendly staff and just all around great experience, no lift lines at all and the food at the lodge grill was pretty good also. If you are looking for a great and inexpensive place to ski while in Colorado then this is the place you won't be disappointed.....

I'm giving you a poor review because it was a very POOR decision to take the microwaves out of the dining room. My family has season passes and we visit weekly. We don't always bring our lunch and drinks up with us. We do buy there. While we were there today, we saw several of the 4th graders, who get to ski free this year with frozen burritos and other such things that needed microwaved, and they were turned away by your kitchen staff. This was very upsetting, some of these kids obviously had no money to buy something else, so they had to go hungry for the day. This is only going to make me want to bring my lunch and drinks every time now, because I feel I should have a choice

“CO ski locals' best-kept secret”
Reviewed December 19, 2012

Friendly staff, no crowds, not fashion-focused or pretentious. Just downright great skiing the way it used to be throughout Colorado, with none of the commercialism that plagues the nearby resorts. Super family-friendly....they have a nice ski school for all ages and abilities. This is a place anyone can afford to take their family for a great authentic Colorado winter vacation. A great day of skiing followed by a warm soak in the hot springs pool = HEAVEN! It doesn't get any better!

“I really love the new menu”
Reviewed December 19, 2012

When I asked, I found gluten free and vegetarian options in the cafeteria--I love the new menu and that I can grab a sandwich or some tuna salad from the cooler. And the Chicken Tarragon Soup was AMAZING! I need that recipe! It's a whole new staff this year--I can't wait to see what else they come up with!

“Food at sunlight is excellent”
Reviewed December 18, 2012

Great little resort with short lift lines, good food and friendly people. Good choice of runs. Parking right At the resort , no long walks or bus rides to the lifts. Nice to go up and ride all day and not be lost in a sea of people on every run.
