Owner description: Located between Aspen and Vail, you'll find the World's Largest Hot Springs Pool. The Ute Indians called it Yampah, meaning "big medicine." Soothe your muscles after outdoor activities year round. The large pool is kept at a comfortable 90°- 93° F and the smaller therapy pool averages about 104° F. Additional amenities include a lodge, spa, athletic club, grill and shopping. Relieve muscle and joint pain, or just relax and feel the wonder of a soak in our hot springs. Soaking in hot, highly concentrated mineral water has many health benefits. Increasing body temperature helps the body naturally kill harmful germs and viruses, eliminate toxins, and increase blood flow. The absorbtion of essential minerals gives the body a natural boost. You will feel the difference within minutes of stepping in. Jump in the large pool, at over 400 feet long, and "cool down." Swim laps or practice your form on the diving board. Water slides, mini golf, and kiddie pool are available in the warmer months. Bring your own cooler and snacks, or stop by the poolside Grill to grab a bite.

After a hard day on the slopes, or touring around the town, there are not many better ways to spend an evening than easing into the Glenwood Springs. The pool is huge, and you can find a nice quiet part of the pool to relax. The staff is friendly and helpful, and that adds to your ability to unwind. We went as part of a romantic weekend, but we noticed many families enjoying what Glenwood Springs has to offer. Enjoy!

We got to town late and found out that the hot springs pool offers a special rate of $10 (reg. $15) if you go between 9-10pm. Pool closes at 10pm. Since we got to town late, this worked out perfectly for us and it was not at all crowded and kinda cool to be under the stars. Be sure to check the web site before you come here; they close the pool 3 times a year for cleaning and it was to be closed the day after we were there. Luckily, I had checked the web site and found that out so we didn't miss it.

We had spent the morning walking around Glenwood Springs on a cold, rainy day and went to the Hot Springs Pool to relax and warm up. Although there were a lot of people there, it did not seem crowded at all. The pool is huge with at least three different areas - a very hot area (around 104 degrees). It actually felt a little hotter than this as we keep our hot tub at 104 degrees and it felt warmer than our hot tub. They have another pool that is more like 90 degrees or so that is huge. Then at the end of that pool it is divided into lap lanes and then a deep area (12' deep) with a diving board. We stayed around two hours and were totally relaxed when we got out of the water. It is open late (around 10 pm) and you can get your hand stamped and come back later that day for free.

We've enjoyed this pool in previous trips, but this time was somehow better. For one, the staff seemed more engaged in their jobs, and were friendlier.

The pool is fun, relaxing and its surrounded by beautiful mountains. Such a unique experience, a definite must-do --- and more than once!

The changing rooms need an attendant; there were too many young kids running around and into others. The floors are wet and slippery, as you would expect, but could be kept cleaner. Take flip flops and WEAR them in the changing rooms. Also, when using lockers you are charged each time you open & close, so plan accordingly.

On previous visits, we have stayed at the Lodge, but this time we stayed at the next exit in Rifle, CO, a less expensive alternative.
